McDaniels reclassified to 2026 with his move to Huntington Prep and was a standout in the nightcap of the event. A big time shooter, McDaniels can make it rain from way downtown even with a hand in his face or a hard closeout. McDaniels does well playing off high volume guards who can draw defense into the paint and then quickly kick it out for a 3-point shot for McDaniels with his feet set. McDaniels also looked a little more explosive athletically than he was during the summer, he had a nice two footed slam dunk off a great feed by a teammate. It’ll be interesting to see where his recruitment shakes up with this new reclass and playing for Huntington Prep after he left the state of Kentucky.

Rumored to be transferring to Huntington Prep, McDaniels was getting busy for Jeffersontown in what could be the last time you see him wearing that uniform. Trying to make basketball his sport of choice at the next level, McDaniels still has the football build with lots of weight and muscle. Despite that, McDaniels has soft touch on mid-range jumpers and enough explosiveness to throw down dunks when given a runway. A physical player on both ends, McDaniels is a tough match-up at the local high school level due to his strength and motor. McDaniels will hope to see his recruitment pick up this July and during the winter if he officially makes the move to the midwestern prep powerhouse.

McDaniels fills up the stat sheet. He attacks the basket in transition and the half-court and can finish in traffic and through contact. If he draws a help defender, he dishes it to an open teammate. His size and athleticism enable him to grab rebounds at a high rate.

McDaniels has scholarship offers as a tight end but is also an effective “big forward” who can play in the paint and even has some stretch to his game. Moving up from 60th to 44th, Cameron and his brother Lukus have helped Jeffersontown be a state title contender for the past few seasons.

Jeffersontown was impressive on Friday as they won both of their games to advance in the bracket. Both of the McDaniels were impressive as both Camron and Lukus were bringing their physicality from the gridiron to the hardwood. I was most impressed with Camron on the basketball court as he has soft hands, good passing vision and scored the ball efficiently at the rim. Just a tough forward, Camron was using his size and strength to his advantage and playing more physically than his opponents. Currently holding one football offer from Eastern Kentucky, Camron is a two sport stud at Jeffersontown.

McDaniels enters the rankings after helping lead Jeffersontown back to Rupp Arena for a second straight season. Cameron is a big wing prospect who showed an impressive shooting stroke this season from behind the three point line. With a big AAU season, you could see his stock take off.
