Opposing ball-handlers rarely had an easy possession against Bryce Waters at the East CP3 National Middle School Combine. Waters was a tenacious on-ball defender who took pride in applying pressure from the moment his assignment received the basketball. His persistence made it difficult for guards to settle into their offense, often forcing them to adjust their pace or work harder just to initiate a play. What separated Waters was his ability to maintain that defensive intensity without taking possessions off. He embraced the challenge of guarding opposing players and established himself as a dependable defensive stopper who could make life difficult for anyone matched up against him.
