About Brock
Expert Analysis
Devin Record | Prep Hoops Scout
Brock is very efficient on the court. He plays with patience and doesn’t rush the offense or his passes. He runs the court really well and is able to push the ball quickly with his speed and ball handling. He shoots the deep shot good, either off the dribble or off a catch and shoot. He gives his all every time he’s on the court, putting his body on the line for his teammates when needed.

Strengths: 3-PT Shooting, Ballhandling
Breakdown: Boyer is asked to do quite a bit within the Wildcats offense; run the point, score the ball, space the floor, and create looks for others. Because of this, he seems to take a lot of tough shots, but he does exhibit a nice-looking stroke and can extend his range far beyond the arc at times. He also does a nice job of handling pressure in the backcourt, keeps his eyes down court and makes decisions before the pressure is on him.
Outlook: Boyer has some really good skills and could fill in as a floor spacing point guard at the next level. When he looks to get shots in closer he sometimes lacks the moves to create space under tight defense. If he can improve those moves working in close, he could expand his scoring ability.

Brock is a great player. He’s a strong leader on the court which is what you need from the ball handlers of the team. He facilitates the ball really well, being able to set up his teams offense and get all of his teammates involved. He knows how to get to his spots, especially his mid-range shot. He consistently knocks that down. His deep shot is nice too as he can hit off the dribble or catch and shoot. I’m looking forward to his senior year.

Brock is listed at 6’3″ on the PrepHoopsWA site, but I believe he has grown a little bit since then. Boyer runs the court well, being able to find his teammates or finish the lat-up himself. He knows which lane to fill in the moment too, which is extremely important. He attacks the bucket effectively, being able to rise above defenders to finish the contested lay-up. His stroke from 3 point range is solid, especially off a catch and shoot. The senior could rise into the top 100 whenever the update occurs.
