I saw a lot of Watkins and his game this summer and I can tell you he’s ready for a big senior season. Watkins showed the ability to get downhill and excel when doing so. He was able to turn the corner on defenders and make plays. Watkins has drawn some college interest and they will be watching.

I loved the way that Watkins played over the course of grassroots season. He showed that he could be counted on as a high level scorer. Watkins was at his best when he attacked the defense north-south and looked for lanes to the rim.

Watkins had a huge game, 30 points maybe? Either way, if he gets downhill consistently, he’s going to score and make plays. Watkins is too strong to allow a straight line drive. He hit attack mode this weekend and once again sent the message that he’s a next level talent.

Watkins has had a huge grassroots season and should be considered a must see talent by scouts and coaches that hit the gym this weekend. He has attacked space and blasted through lanes with the ball as well as anyone this grassroots season. Watkins has used a low front shoulder and a strong frame to fend off defenders.

Watkins is a prospect that’s had a great grassroots season. He’s an athletic guard that can really play north-south when he has the ball. He can create or find creases in the defense and attack them. Watkins has a strong frame to use to fight off defenders in traffic.

Watkins was one of the most impressive players in the gym at the Michigan State Tournament. Offensively, he was able to get downhill the entire weekend which is when he’s been at his best. I think his strong frame makes that a successful style for him. Watkins was also very impactful on the defensive end. His defensive performance highlighted his foot speed and quickness.

Watkins is getting some run on my pages as of late. Much like last time, it sounds like he was very solid and active around the rim, and on both sides of the ball. There was also talk and video of him getting out in the open floor over the weekend.

Watkins certainly impressed me with his defensive performance. I describe some players as going downhill on offense, but Watkins went downhill on D. He was really in attack mode when I saw him play.

Watkins has been big time this season for GR Catholic Central. Watkins is an excellent ball handler that can really push pace and pressure the defense. Watkins can score, featuring crafty finishes and a terrific mid range game with a balanced pull up jumper. Watkins has deservedly developed a reputation as a relentless hard worker and gritty player.

Watkins had a tremendous Mother’s Day weekend playing at the Wes Leonard Strength and Honor tournament. He had a couple of huge games that really caught people’s attention. Watkins went off for 26 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds in one game and 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in another. He showed off a really well rounded skill set that allows him to contribute in a variety of ways.
