Loewen was on the wrong side of Cote’s dominance, but he still had a really nice performance in the D4 championship game. The senior guard hit some outside shots and showcased pure-looking shooting form, but he also made a number of really smart kick out passes to his teammates when the help came. Defensively, he impressed me with his hands and toughness—he took a charge early on and contested tons of shots. Loewan’s ball handling probably isn’t at a high enough level right now to play college hoops, but perhaps I’m missing something and he’ll land somewhere.

Loewen, a senior guard out of Georgetown High School, could be a major offensive creator for his team this winter. The playmaking guard has terrific vision in the half-court, does a nice job of delivering passes on time and on target, and even shows the ability to knock down shots from behind the arc. He guards either position in the back-court and has the lateral quickness to keep opposing ball-handlers out of the paint.

Loewan is a high IQ combo guard who doesn’t get the recognition he likely deserves because of the fact that he plays for Georgetown High School in MIAA division 4. But the 5-foot-10 guard is very skilled as a shooter and closeout attacker and has better hops and body control at the rim than you’d think. He’s able to finish with contact from larger players, and he has really nice touch with both hands. His size will likely limit his recruitment at the next level, but Loewen should still have an excellent high school season this year and could get some looks if he gets stronger/quicker.

Wants to get downhill, uses his shoulder/body to protect the ball. The floor general on this team but a Top 2 option in the scoring department. Finishes well at the rim with a few nice floaters today especially the one off the backboard. Had impressive turnaround “Dirk Nowitzki” step back fadeaway. Brendan has a chance to be a captain next year with his quality minutes and being a starter. He takes care of the basketball and is efficient in the dribble drive offense. High percentage free throws made going 7/8 today.
