Expert Analysis
Paul Hernandez | Prep Hoops Scout
Harris is a physical and fundamentally sound player that impacts the paint on both ends of the court, excels in the half-court setting, and plays within his skill set to maximize his value on the court. The 6-foot-9 power forward has great interior footwork, a variety of post-moves to score within 15-feet of the basket, with the drop-step, the shoulder fake into the spin-move to evade his defender, and the hook-floater to score over taller players at the basket. Harris has nice touch on finishes at the cup, can space the floor with the mid-post jumper off the one-dribble pull-up, has great timing on dives off the pick and roll action, with the ability to score through contact when going to the basket. Harris has good court vision to make plays from the top of the key to players cutting off the ball, blocks/alters shots in the paint, and finished with 11 points and 6 rebounds in a loss to Bakersfield Christian.

Harris is a more traditional big that holds down the interior on both ends and plays within his skillset, which was on display at OGP Ladera and San Juan Hills HS a few weeks back in SoCal. The 6-foot-9 center/forward controls the glass on both ends with good technique on the box out, he keeps the ball at chest level or above to avoid pesky guards looking to poke the ball out, and has nice touch on the putback or tip-in off the rebound. Harris has nice footwork in the post, has good post-moves to score with his back-to-the-basket, and is effective with the jumpshot to create space and open up driving lanes. Harris is a quality shot blocker and rim protector, has the physical build to defend against opposing bigs, and has good court awareness to find the dunker spot, opposite his teammates attacking the basket, for easy drop-off passes, which lead to lay-ups and dunks for the big man. Harris will be relied upon to anchor both ends of the floor this coming season for the Central Section D1 runner-ups looking to make it back to the championship game.
