The high academic point guard is so smart and crafty with the ball and with his ability to finish around the rim. He changes speeds well and always seems to make the right decision. AJ is capable of stepping behind a ball screen and making open jump shots if left open and is instinctive at the defensive end of the floor.

Ayden Ambrose is a shifty point guard known for his exceptional ability to change direction and execute unorthodox finishes around the basket. His playing style is characterized by great pace, allowing him to effectively identify and exploit gaps in the defense to penetrate the hoop. Ambrose has a knack for finding openings in both offensive plays and defensive setups, often stopping suddenly to deliver quick layups that can catch opponents off guard. Notably, he sometimes utilizes unconventional techniques, such as finishing with his opposite foot, further disrupting defenders’ timing and enhancing his scoring opportunities.

The 6-0 sophomore guard has one of the highest IQ’s I’ve seen. Ambrose doesn’t light up the scoreboard with his scoring, but he is a crafty passer where he gets his teammates good looks to score. Ambrose plays smooth when he is around the rim and is unafraid to finish while absorbing contact from stronger defenders. On the defensive end, Ambrose is quick and shifty where he can stay in front of opposing guards limiting the opposition from getting a solid shot off.

The 5-9 freshman may be underrated because of his size, but his willingness to attack the basket and finish off bigger defenders proves he can be a star in the making. He is exceptionally quick when he has the basketball in his hands and forces defenders to have a hard time staying in front of him. Ambrose is normally a pass-first point guard but has the ability to shoot the 3 if he has the space and confidence. Ambrose averaged 8.1 points per game and shot 44 percent from beyond the arc last season as a freshman for St. Thomas Aquinas.
