Mitchell is a skilled and crafty combo guard that has various moves to create shots, is a great athlete that impacts both ends of the court, and can score in volume from beyond the arc from deep. Mitchell, the only player not from the Central Section at the Invite Showcase, brought his full scoring arsenal to the event and showed that he is one of the top freshman guards in the state of California, as he would put down an electric showing in a match-up with fellow standout 2030 prospect Omar Muhammad, not backing down and showing his 3-level scoring ability. Mitchell keeps the ball on a string to survey the floor, looks to find openings in the defense to attack, has a plethora of moves to create scoring opportunities off the dribble, using the crossover, wrap-behind, the snatch-back, hesitation, step-back, and spin-move to create space from his defender, moves fluidly off the ball to get to his shot spots, squares his body up, is efficient with the 3-ball off the bounce or the catch, has good body control in the air on the mid-range jumper, and is a crafty scorer around the basket, using the reverse, up-and-under, and floater down the lane to score over defenders in the paint. Very impressive showing from the freshman, and overall he was a top 5 player at the event. Great burst of speed off the bounce, pushes the pace in the open court, has solid court vision to make reads when the defense collapses, and is an active on-ball defender that looks to force turnovers and mistakes.
