Moye is a stocky guard who is uses his strength to get to different places on the floor. He does a good job controlling the game in the half-court. I like how Moye found ways to stay active without having the ball in his hands. He was regularly setting pin-downs for his teammates for them to get space for scoring chances. He showed he could score from deep but could take a jump from behind the arc.He made a living out the foul line and did a good job of taking contact. He sought out rebounds frequently and can start the break after a rebound. Moye also has a good vision of the floor and found teammates for offensive chances of their own.

Normally it doesn’t take long to recognize the legitimate Division I prospects in a given gym. They move at a different pace, have different physical tools, and impact the game in a different way than everyone else. That certainly was the case with Amir Moye for Corey Graham Elite 16u at our Prep Hoops Circuit events this spring and summer. Moye led his team to the 16u title at the Prep Hoops Grit Region Finals as well. He is a dominant force off of the dribble with an explosiveness when getting downhill to finish that is really hard for opposing defenses to deal with.

Probably the clear pick for 16u MVP, Moye teamed up with Jaydian Johnson to create a dominant backcourt for Corey Graham Elite on their way to the winning the Prep Hoops Circuit Grit Region Finals. Moye is an incredibly dynamic playmaker that can get to his spots off of the dribble seemingly whenever he wants. He went off for 28 points in their semifinal win before putting up a team-leading 18 points in the title game.

Moye was outstanding in both matchups I watched today. The best thing about his style of play is his vision as he was racking up the assist totals in the opening game. In the second game, Moye became more aggressive as a defender and scorer. Strip-and-score in the first half of that contest with a defender all over him. Extended his range on several instances as well. Dribble pull-up near the elbow to go along with three 3-pointers.

Moye is a dynamic playmaker that can score in bunches, create opportunities for his teammates, and led his team to a 3-1 record over the weekend against the best competition at the event. He had games of 22 points, 23 points, and 19 points in their three wins showcasing his relentless driving ability and creative finishing around the basket against size.
