About Amad

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am working on my jump shot more consistent off the bounce and off the catch. I pressure the rim and get in the paint to create for myself or my teammates. I am a good defenders and I am usually tasked with guarding the opposing team's best player. Even if there is a significant size difference, I give my best effort on both ends.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I like to guard the opposing team's best player or take on tasks that other do not want to do and I give my best effort whenever I step on the floor. I'm very vocal as well to be able to support my teammates. I'm also very sociable and I like talking to people and hearing different perspectives and interests.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am currently the president of the African-American Culture Club (AACC) at my school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

From my freshman to senior year, I developed an ability to listen to other people and understand their perspectives, even if I may not agree. I became more vocal on the court on both ends to help my teammates to create opportunities or to get a stop. I am also trying to create a business of sorts by selling sports pictures. Through this, I am learning how to communicate with different people.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I got a grade-3 hamstring strain during my sophomore year and I was told that I would be out for the season. It was difficult because I wanted to see my off-season work pay off and I was made fun of for not playing by people in and out of school. With consistent P.T, I was able to come back two weeks before the regular season ended. Our team would go on to win the Flight-C conference championship.

What type of college are you looking for?

Somewhere where I can develop and improve. I want to learn how to score at a high level while being a smaller guard. The size of the college doesn't really matter to me so long as the community is nice and players and people can improve. Going somewhere where I could get some kind of scholarship would be nice, or if the college isn't too expensive for my family and I to afford.
