A big body bruiser who will look to carve out a worthy role on a SMCA squad who brings in some nice talent, Key will make his presence known inside as a rebounder and a defender who can guard opposing bigs thanks to his ability to maintain leverage. He’s still developing his game away from the rim, but showed some ability flashing to the high-post, facing up and attacking off 1-to-2 dribbles and getting to the basket. He can be a threat as a screener and does a nice job of sealing off his man on rolls to maintain the mismatch if the defense decides to switch.

Another physical inside presence will be Key. Similar to Gottfried, this will be an opportunity to see the 6-foot-5 senior forward get to showcase what he can do in more of a free-flowing setting. Typically, the 3v3 portion is where the forwards and bigs can show their worth and instincts playing out of ball screens. In the past, Key has shown a strength in establishing and maintaining his position on the low block for his teammates to dump it down to him in the post before going to work. The Expo will be a muse for what to expect with Key this season at SMCA as he tries to earn valuable rotational minutes.
