Scott Burgess

Scott Burgess is a high school basketball scout and recruiting analyst for Prep Hoops Illinois. Scott has been a mainstay in Illinois recruiting circles over the last half decade breaking stories on the latest happenings in recruiting and evaluating the state's top players throughout the year. His most recent position has been with Scout.com and IlliniPlaybook.com. He will continue to bring his top notch scouting and recruiting information to the readers of Prep Hoops Illinois. Scott has contributed to numerous websites over the years and has appeared on radio shows across the country. Throughout his young career he has gained knowledge in scouting, journalism, and web design. He ran his own high school basketball recruiting, NBA Draft, and NFL Draft website while in high school. After completing high school he graduated from Missouri Baptist University with a degree in sport management where he worked with many organizations and events such as the MLB All-Star Game, Women's Final Four, and several St. Louis Sports Commission events. Basketball is his true passion and he enjoys running events as well. He has worked with the Nike Hoop Jamboree/Nike Elite 100 for the past six years as an administrative assistant. This prestigious camp features the top underclassmen in the nation. He has also helped in the event management of the Nike Global Challenge which was held in Chicago in 2014 hosting elite prospects from the United States along with four international teams. Scott has also served as assistant camp director and media coordinator for the Fab Frosh Camp in Atlanta introducing the premier rising freshman to the nation. What separates Scott is scouting ability. He understands how to evaluate prospects and what it takes for players to get to the next level. He has great enthusiasm and passion for basketball in the state of Illinois. College coaches, high school coaches, AAU coaches, and the prospects themselves enjoy working with him.
