There were exactly 64 players in the league with 8 teams and 8 on each team. I had the pleasure of watching the Elite-8, Final-4 and Finals on Sunday.
Unfortunately I missed watching some of the players as they had prior AAU commitments they had to be a part of, but I saw 50+ of the 64 players.
I will do my categories that I think most of players fit in. Some of the players may have been great the other 3 days but when I watched on Sunday, they weren’t as productive, so they may not be a part of the 49.
Let’s move over to the most versatile:
Tru Washington Tru Washington 6'3" | CG AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #61 Nation AZ (Mountain Pointe) (Pictured)
-The MVP of the league can virtually do it all. He can hit 3’s plus drive the lane and bang inside with the post players. He consistently was one of the top rebounders of each game plus makes plays for others. For his undersized team he played the 1-5 for them. The recent ASU offer was no fluke.
Arman Madi Arman Madi 6'7" | SF Brophy | 2023 State AZ (Brophy Prep)
-Another inside out threat has good size to play inside plus handles it, shoots it from the perimeter and is a sneaky good passer. He was the Defensive MVP guarding every position on the court.
Jai Anthoni Bearden Jai Anthoni Bearden 6'6" | SF Sunnyslope | 2024 State AZ (Undecided)
-A long defender who plays almost every position. He can shoot the 3 plus blocks shots with the best of them using his crazy length. He moves gracefully around the court and shows high upside. Wherever he goes, he could change the dynamic of their team immediately on defense. He has the look of a top-10 player in the class.
Kendre Pride Kendre Pride 6'2" | SG Basha | 2024 AZ (Undecided)
-A thick wing can play inside with his stronger body and carve out space to get downhill. He can also shoot the 3 and handles the ball well. Which ever school he picks, he may be a day-one starter.
Cori James Cori James 6'2" | SF Desert Vista | 2024 State AZ (South Mountain)
-A strong wing handles the ball well to get into the lane and likes the contact. He seems to bounce off of them but then he can also show off his skill and make shots from deep. He plays football and shows off his toughness in every game.
Emery Young Emery Young 6'4" | SG Centennial | 2023 State AZ (Centennial)
-A Swiss army knife plays almost every position on the court. He has a top notch motor and is consistently dominating the glass and loves to get downhill into the lane and take contact. He can make shots from the perimeter and defends multiple positions.
Ezias Steffen Ezias Steffen 6'4" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ (Buckeye)
-A bigger wing handles it like a guard but can play physically inside. He shoots 3’s and rebounds well in his area.
D’Andre Harrison D’Andre Harrison 6'5" | PF Perry | 2025 State AZ (Gilbert)
-A talented lefty forward can shoot it from mid and in. He loves the floater game and rebounds at a good rate. High upside for the future Tiger.
Brandon Trilli Brandon Trilli 6'5" | SF Munster | 2023 State IN (Desert Vista)
-A versatile forward can play inside and out. He has real length to rebound plus handles it like a guard. He can slither his way into the lane and score through traffic. He can shoot it from mid to the 3pt line.
Nael Al-Masri Nael Al-Masri 6'3" | SF Apollo | 2023 AZ (Ironwood)
-A versatile forward can shoot it from deep plus drive the lane and score it through contact with his strong body. He can improve his shot selection but he plays really hard and is competitive.
