Continue ReadingOver the last few months, the Prep Hoops SoCal staff has broken down each ranking update with in-depth pieces on the top players by position, by class and covered sleepers and players to watch across the vast SoCal area.
In our latests rankings coverage, we wanted to regionalize the lists a little more, and in this piece we take a look at the best players and prospects in the Inland Empire region regardless of class with input from PH SoCal staff writers taken into consideration. These five players stray a little bit from our consensus class rankings published earlier this spring and take into account current impact at the high school level and long-term upside at the college level.
11. Khemanni Davis Khemanni Davis 6'3" | SG Rancho Verde | 2022 State CA-S , 2022, Rancho Verde – Davis is one of the more underrated guys when it comes to all of SoCal’s talent, but he shouldnt be a secret much longer. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard is a big time on-ball and team defender who can score from mid-range and in efficiently. Look for Davis to have a breakout season as a junior.
12. Cord Stansberry Cord Stansberry 6'3" | SG Shadow Hills | 2022 State CA-S , 2022, Shadow Hills – Stansberry burst on the scene recently because of his all-around skill-set and size. The Indio-based prospect is tucked away deep in the Inland Empire (though there’s probably an argument Indio isn’t the I.E.), but for the sake of these rankings the 6-foot-3 combo guard falls in perfectly here. Stansberry has picked up a couple of solid offers recently and his stock should continue to soar once we resume basketball activities.
13. Godfrey Little Godfrey Little 6'2" | SG Roosevelt | 2021 State CA-S , 2021, Eastvale Roosevelt – Little is one of the best jump shooters in Southern California as a whole and what makes him so good is the fluidity of his release and great lift he gets on his jumper. The 6-foot-1 shooting guard moves well without the ball and relishes in the opportunity of taking a shot with the game on the line.
14. Payden White Payden White 6'5" | SF Riverside Poly | 2022 State CA-S , 2022, Corona Centennial – White isn’t the type of player who will blow you away with explosive dunks, dazzling dribbling displays or high scoring outbursts, but what he brings to the floor can’t be replaced. The 6-foot-4 wing is a versatile defender, high rate rebounder on the offensive and defensive boards and uses his length to create turnovers in Centennial’s pressure defense.
15. CJ Bellamy CJ Bellamy 5'8" | PG Los Altos | 2022 State CA-S , 2022, Eastvale Roosevelt – Bellamy is an electric scoring guard whose combination of speed, quickness and ability to change speed and direction on a dime make him a tough cover in transition and half-court settings. Bellamy has a quick trigger on his jump shot, which he can create for himself off the bounce, and is a better finisher than expected at his 5-foot-8 frame.
