Alameda County 2021 Players You May Not Know

<p>Alameda County has a long list of top players in the area. Some of these prospects in the 2021 class may not have the name recognition as others, but they played good basketball for their high school teams, and will have bigger roles going forward as they progress through whatever is left of grassroots and into their Senior seasons. </p> <p><em><strong>Tejaun Hale 6’4 Guard/Wing, Oakland Tech (Oakland CA)</strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>Hale</strong></em> a versatile athletic player will lead a young Oakland Tech team that’s expected to be one of the better teams in NorCal. A strong player that does a little bit of everything on offense. He’s hard to guard when he gets going towards the basket, good body control, strong enough to play through contact, and will dunk on you. He has a decent post game and can hit the jumper in the key. A solid rebounder who has guard like handles to push in transition or set the offense. </p> <p><em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="947862" first="Rahsaan" last="Young"] 6’5 Wing, Oakland Tech (Oakland CA)</strong></em></p> <p>A long armed slender prospect will be teamed with <em><strong>Hale</strong> </em>at Tech next season. He has a decent skill set, his handles might need some polishing, but he’s capable of contributing in a big way. He’s shown he can get into the lane, and score over taller defenders for a nice smooth jumper in paint, he has a good outside shot from three that he can knock down, when gets into a good rhythm. He runs the floor pretty well and can come from out of nowhere to block shots. </p> <p><em><strong>Nay’Veon Reed 6’5 Forward, Newark Memorial HS (Newark CA)</strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>Reed</strong> </em>was one of the most improved prospects in the county. His improvement pushed Newark from average to contending for a shot at a league title. He was first team MVAL All-League.The muscular post gave his team an inside presence on both ends of the court. At times with his size and strength he was just too much for any one player in the post. Once he improved on receiving the ball in the post, his stock went up. </p> <p><em><strong>Caleb Oden 6’4 Guard/Forward, Dublin HS (Concord CA)</strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>Oden</strong> </em>was a key contributor off the bench for a Dublin team that came up one game short of the NorCal Open Finals. Oden should be ready to take on an expanded role next season as one of four returning players. He’s a quality defender who can guard multiple positions, and made good use of his time going after rebounds, and getting second chance points. He’ll get an opportunity to show his offensive skills next season.</p> <p><em><strong>Kaleb Elams Orr 6’4 Forward, Moreau Catholic HS (Hayward CA)</strong></em></p> <p>Every now and then you get a prospect who doesn’t concern himself with stats, <em><strong>Elams Orr</strong></em> seems to fit the description. I like to call them glue guys.  A thick body player, and one of the most active players on the court. He’s one of the first to the floor for loose balls, his energy on the boards can’t go unnoticed, in nine games this season had 10 or more rebounds, at least 3 games he recorded a double double. He has good strength and mobility to defend bigger, and quicker players.  An MVAL Honorable Mention selection in league.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
