2022 Top Two-Way Players

<p>The 2022 class is full of talented players who have made a big impact on the varsity scene. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="850662" first="Will" last="Richardson"] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="850664" first="Mark" last="Armstrong"]</strong> was named to Third Team All-State, while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="901942" first="Ben" last="Roy"]</strong> was selected to the Second Team. The class is full of players who make an impact on both sides of the floor. Here are the top two-way players in the 2022 class.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="787669" first="Corey" last="Floyd Jr"]., 6’4 CG Roselle Catholic</strong></p> <p>The Lions may lose most of their starting lineup to graduation, but they should still be one of the top teams in the state next season. Floyd Jr. returns to the lineup, providing head coach Dave Boff with a play-maker in the backcourt. The athletic combo guard can finish above the rim and can knock down shots from the perimeter. Floyd Jr. moves his feet well on the defensive end and can defend multiple positions. Roselle Catholic will be one of the teams to beat in 2020-21 with Floyd Jr. returning in the backcourt.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="901958" first="Saivon" last="Pressley"], 5’10 PG Wardlaw-Hartridge</strong></p> <p>The Rams had a good 2019-20 season with the addition of Pressley. The 5’10 point guard is lightning quick who can blow by his defender in the half court and can finish around the rim. Pressley is more than just a slasher as he can make opponents pay for giving him space on the perimeter. He is a thief in the back court as he led the state in steals with 161. Wardlaw-Hartridge can improve on its 18-7 record last season with another big season from Pressley.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="850680" first="Lual" last="Manyang"], 6’10 C Blair Academy</strong></p> <p>The Buccaneers are loaded with talent in the 2022 class with <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="850672" first="Kyle" last="Cuffee Jr."]</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="850671" first="Otega" last="Oweh"] </strong>and Manyang. The latter is an athletic big man who use his length to alter shots around the basket. Manyang has a nice touch around the basket and is working on his range. He runs the floor as well as anyone in the class and works hard on the glass. Blair Academy loses forward <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="896445" first="Luke" last="Kolaja"]</strong> to graduation, but Manyang is ready to take his place in the starting lineup.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="901956" first="David" last="Mager"], 6’3 SG Dwight-Englewood</strong></p> <p>The Bulldogs have one of the top backcourts in the state in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="901957" first="Jayden" last="Lemond"] </strong>and Mager. The latter is a big-time athlete who knows how to finish around the rim. Mager has a good handle and can score in the mid-range. He plays with good instincts on the defensive end and is an underrated shot-blocker. Mager and Lemond both picked up Division I offers since the end of the season and they are ready to lead Dwight-Englewood to a big 2020-21 season.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="901974" first="Donovan" last="Long"], 6’6’ SF Marist</strong></p> <p>Long may have played out of position for head coach Ben Gamble, but he made a difference throughout the season. The 6’6 forward has a nice touch around the basket and knows how to draw contact. Long plays with great positioning on the defensive end, making him one of the top shot-blockers in the 2022 class. He plays with a great motor and scraps for rebounds on every possession.
