JUSTIN TURNER 5”9 JR(2022) EASTPORT SOUTH MANOR H S
An amazingly skilled player. Does everything well. A three-point shooter with a nice mid-range game. An underrated athlete who will get better as he continues to get bigger and stronger. When a big basket is needed Justin is the guy.
BRENDYN CHENG 5”9 SR(2021) COMMACK H S
A player who has improved every year since he’s been on varsity. A hard worker that continues to improve his game. Good ball handler and crafty player. His shot and ability to get to the rim is something he has put the time in on.
MATT USS 5”7 SR (2021) JOHN GLENN H S
Matt is capable of playing the opponent’s best player no matter the size because of his grit. A leader on and off the floor. Really good from three. Going to the basket and getting his shot off are things he’s improved on.
DAYRIEN FRANKLIN 6”0 SR(2021) CENTER MORICHES H S
A relentless worker who really understands the game. Has that killer instinct. Great on the ball defender. Can really stroke the three. Finishes through contact at the rim. Is working on his mid-range game.
THOMAS BELL 5”10 SR (2021) SHOREHAM WADING RIVER H S
A true point. Thomas is a hard-nosed, tough, solid leader. Tremendous passer. Great court vision and awareness. He has worked on his offensive skills and put his game altogether in his junior year.
ISIAH SWEEN 5”10 SR(2021) CENTRAL ISLIP H S
Really good handle. Can get off his own shot. Gets a lot of deflections. Gets by the defender with the quickness. Learning how to pull up after he gets by.
DEREK VARLACK 5”10 JR(2022) HALF HOLLOW EAST H S
A very coachable player. Can play the 1 or the 2 guard position. With his creativity he can get to the rim and finish with either hand. He is very good with the drive and dish. Also very good with the catch and shoot especially from three. Good defender from baseline to baseline. Needs to improve his pull up game in transition. Also his foot speed and athleticism.
JON BORKOWSKI 5”10 JR (2022) KINGS PARK H S
Not a well known player before the season, but as the season went on opponents knew him. Tough scrappy, on the ball defender. Who can drive or stick the three. Handles the ball well. Needs a little more experience and foot speed.
JAMIR STEWART 5”10 JR (2022) BALDWIN H S
Scoring point guard, who knocks down shots. Plays really hard. Working on making guys around him better.
