NC’s All-Defense Team: Part 1

<p><i>Although offense provides the buckets and entertainment, the facts still remain that defense wins championships. Listed below are several players that proved themselves as outstanding defenders this season</i>. </p> <p><b>West Brunswick Senior G/F [player_tooltip player_id="833120" first="Jadyn" last="Parker"]</b>: The #1 shot blocker in the state at over 5 Blocks per game makes him an easy pick for All-Defense. Not only does he understand how to use his height and length to block shots but he also displayed the ability to defend multiple positions.</p> <p><b>Terry Sanford HS Junior Guard Kaylon Keys</b>: One of the best on ball defenders in Cumberland County, he seems to take pride on the defensive end of the floor. He understands how to use his upper body strength to make things difficult for opponents and has good quickness to go along with his strength.</p> <p><b>Forsyth Country Day Freshman Guard [player_tooltip player_id="949393" first="Will" last="Gray"]:</b> Certain players just seem to have a great natural feel for the game and he’s one of those prospects. He’s a good on ball defender but he’s just as good playing the passing lanes and getting out into transition. His potential to be special is clear and you have to love the fact that he’s a son of a coach. Don’t be surprised to see him in the mix among some of the top Guards in NC for 2023.</p> <p><b>Lexington HS Senior Forward [player_tooltip player_id="833124" first="Alex" last="Holt"]</b>: An old school style of post player, he’s not going to look to hang out on the perimeter but instead you will find him banging inside the paint. Over the last few seasons he’s put up major numbers in rebounding and blocked shots, finishing Top 10 in both categories. Next year he will be  suiting up for High Point University and we are excited about his potential. Once he gets into their strength and conditioning program, we expect him to take a major leap. </p> <p><b>Lumberton HS Senior Guard [player_tooltip player_id="833299" first="Jordan" last="McNeill"]</b>: Is there anything that this young man can’t do ? He’s a 2,000 Point scorer, outstanding rebounder and brings it on the defensive end of the floor as well. The combination of strength and lateral quickness are why he’s able to make such a nice impact on the defensive side of the ball.</p>
