Here’s a group of 2022 NorCal players 6’7 to 7’1, who might be considered forwards and centers. They have the size and play around the basket at this time in their development. With muscle being added and continued skill development, some of these players could develop into more than just post players.

[player_tooltip player_id="947393" first="Mor" last="Sec"]k 7’1, Archbishop Riordan (San Francisco CA)

Seck is easily going to attract attention. The 7 foot transfer from Florida possess raw skills at this point. He plays with lots of energy, roaming the paint looking to block and change shots. He has a decent jump hook, but most of his buckets come from putbacks, and lobs at this point, he will go up and get it. He does have good balance, but tends to pick up cheap fouls, more patience, footwork, and post work development are needed.

[player_tooltip player_id="947835" first="Dajon" last="Lott"] 6’8, Elk Grove, (Elk Grove CA)

The long slender player has made good improvement over the course of the season, his skill set isn’t as polished as it should be, but keep in mind he’s still growing. He can make it tough to get shots up over him in the paint and at the rim. He averaged 9.3 ppg, 7 rebs, and 2.1 blocks per game. He finishes okay around the basket, but needs to be more assertive.

[player_tooltip player_id="966273" first="Anthony" last="Williams"] 6’8, Whitney (Rocklin CA)

An athletic forward who’s very active on both ends of the floor, he runs well in transition, his handles are decent for a player his size, he’s effective with the one bounce drive to the basket, and he has an improving jump shot in close. He actively goes after rebounds, he moves well and can guard multiple positions. Continued improvement on offense could see his stock rise.

[player_tooltip player_id="766851" first="Keandre" last="Burns"] 6’7 Yuba, (Yuba CA)

Burns does good work around the basket, he can finish over both shoulders, above and around the rim with either hand. He works well at the high post, passing and screening. He can drive or hit the shot from the elbow.

[player_tooltip player_id="946522" first="Matt" last="Radell"] 6’7 Campolindo, (Moraga CA)

Radell has been a valuable player for a team that has won back to back NorCal Championships in Divisions I,II. His footwork and scoring inside are improved, he works well coming from the baseline and can hit the short jumper from there. He averaged 8.4 ppg, 4.7 rebs. He work hard defending in the post area.

[player_tooltip player_id="766869" first="Milo" last="Goehring"] 6’7, Nevada Union (Grass Valley)

A big physical body that doesn’t mind mixing it up inside, he gives a good effort. His footwork and efficiency around the basket needs to get better, but he does a have a decent jump hook inside. He will defend and work for rebounds in the post.

[player_tooltip player_id="766860" first="Noah" last="Clifford"] 6’6, De La Salle (Concord CA)

A strong body who moves with purpose on the court. He’s most effective when he’s working from the high post. He’s an excellent passer finding cutters, and shooters, his solid screens frees up players. He’s a good rebounder who uses his body to get position over taller players and doesn’t mind the physical play.

[player_tooltip player_id="966342" first="Nolan" last="Bessire"] 6’8, Montgomery (Santa Rosa CA)

A newcomer looking to establish himself on the grassroots circuit. He plays a solid post game with a variety of moves he uses to score. He’s a rim protector with good timing to block shots. He could develop into an inside/out player if he continues to improves his handle and jump shot.

Joey Finley 6’7, Palma(Salinas CA)

Finley is a muscular two sport athlete (football) with good footwork around the basket. He goes hard after rebounds, and putbacks. He runs rim to rim in transition, he sets good screens, his elbow jumper goes in.
