Five seniors-to-be to keep an eye on from Flint area

Here are a handful of seniors that will make a major impact in the Flint area next year.

[player_tooltip player_id="811109" first="Keyon" last="Mennifield"] (Flint Beecher): Mennifield is ranked #30 in his class but he’s my favorite player to watch on this list and arguably has the most potential. The 5’9 point guard is already an elite 3-point shooter and I think he’s going to be a dominant scorer in a few years as his game continues to mature. He also has an extremely tight handle on the ball and can shake defenders with a quick crossover. Mennfield should get even more recognition next year as [player_tooltip player_id="784993" first="Jalen" last="Terry"] heads to Oregon.

[player_tooltip player_id="611413" first="Owen" last="Lobsinger"] (Flint Powers): Lobsinger is the #12 player in the 2021 rankings who is a smooth jump shooter that can burn his defender if he has an inch of separation. He also has an elite floater that he uses once he gets a step into the paint. The 6’5 small forward from Flint Powers needs to improve on his passing and playmaking going forward but his offensive game is already very polished. Lobsinger has a scholarship offer from Central Michigan.

[player_tooltip player_id="811101" first="Tyson" last="Davis"] (Goodrich): Davis is a 5’10 point guard from Goodrich, who has offers from Ball State, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, and Youngstown State, and is the 20th ranked player in the 2021 class. He has an extremely quick first step which allows him to get past the first line of defense with ease, and he is a very creative finisher once he gets to the rim. He also reads passes really well which will lead to a lot of steals during his senior year. Davis also has football scholarship offers.

[player_tooltip player_id="811095" first="Jayden" last="Nunn"] (Flint Carman-Ainsworth): Nunn, the 13th ranked player junior in Michigan, is a 6’1 combo guard who has offers from Eastern Michigan and Youngstown State. Nunn likes to shoot while moving to his right, but he can dribble and finish with both hands. He also has quick hands and feet on the defensive end of the floor and could become a premier perimeter defender in a year or two.

[player_tooltip player_id="811122" first="Jesse" last="Carpenter Jr."] (Flint Powers): Carpenter is the second player from Flint Powers on this list, which bodes well for them heading into next season. He is the 45th ranked player in the 2021 class and works really well with Lobsinger in transition. Carpenter can be really dangerous shooting from the outside, especially when he has time to catch and shoot. He also shows a lot of effort on defense, reads passing lanes really well, and can block shots from the point guard spot.
