With the possibility of losing the entire AAU season this year, I will mention all 104 sophs ranked.

I like to take a look at my annual “Top-5’s”.

Every player has their 1 skill they usually excel at.

It’s just a fun way to take a look at players’ elite skills in different categories.

We start with the 18 3pt shooters.

Here are my Top-5:

1. [player_tooltip player_id="936379" first="AJ" last="Riggs"] (Highland)

-PURE SHOOTER! He attempts almost 7 3’s a game with 84 made (10th best overall in state) at an impressive 47% clip in a tough 6A. He also had 88% on his FT’s.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="826999" first="Andrew" last="King"] (Phhoenix Prep) (Pictured)

-One of the top shooters in the class made 65 3’s with an outstanding 45% for the Desert Vista Thunder.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="706704" first="Dominic" last="Capriotti"] (Phhoenix Prep)

-Made 79 3’s (12th most made in state) which was 3rd best in the class with 35%. Has some of the deeper range in the group. He did it for the 6A Final-4 Skyline Coyotes.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="827048" first="Logan" last="Porter"] (Heritage Maricopa)

-A shooting specialist made 65 3’s while making 51% in the CAA. Porter was also 85% on FT’s. They were a Final-4 team.

5. [player_tooltip player_id="827041" first="Josh" last="Mclanahan"] (Eduprize)

-Made 74 3’s in the CAA on a team desperate for scoring. Has a nice pull-up too.

Next-5:

1. [player_tooltip player_id="827002" first="Aaron" last="Foote"] (Hamilton)

-Was only playing JV but made 44% of his 3’s and made 47 of them. Could jump in the top-5, but has to show it on varsity next year.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="827016" first="Jason" last="Parent"] (Prescott)

-Parent made 44 3’s at a 38% rate. He can score it from mid as well.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="827049" first="Pascal" last="Volz"] (McClintock)

-Volz made 46 3’s with a respectable 35%. He also makes his teammates better.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="936769" first="Cameron" last="Coraggio"] (Horizon)

-Coraggio made 47 3’s and at a 31% clip. He is mostly a standstill catch-shooter.

5. [player_tooltip player_id="827027" first="Malcolm" last="Flaggs"] (Home-schooled)

-A rare home-schooled player can really shoot it. Easy 3pt stroke and plays on Team Harden for AAU.

5-more:

1. [player_tooltip player_id="936768" first="Tanner" last="Pate"] (Mountain Pointe)

-A JV star may be their best shooter and will hopefully prove it next year on varsity.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="706700" first="Anthony" last="Jaramillo"] (Mountain Pointe)

-A loaded back-court, so he didn’t get heavy PT but made 38% of his 3’s when he was in.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="827042" first="Extavius" last="Mason"] (Greenway)

-Transferred in but did some damage second half of the season 12 made 3’s at 36%.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="827010" first="Tayan" last="Thompson"] (Desert Vista)

-Strong PF who likes to catch and shoot. He hit 26 3’s at 33% rate on a Championship 6A team.

5. [player_tooltip player_id="701252" first="Mike" last="Dienes"] (Rancho Solano Prep)

-A bigger forward is a face-up player who made 35 3’s at a 27% rate.

3-more:

1. [player_tooltip player_id="827040" first="Luke" last="Arington"] (Shadow Ridge)

-He didn’t get the heavy minutes on an older guard team but should break out next year. He made 15 3’s at a 33% rate.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="827013" first="Amir" last="Locus"] (Deer Valley)

-Played a little on varsity and is a face-up 4-man and shoots the 3 easy.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="827046" first="Kaden" last="Earl"] (Perry)

-Missed most of the season with the transfer rule but will get his chance to shine next year. He can shoot it with range plus is athletic.
