While the 2020 class is full of high-end talent, the 2021 class may have the edge at the top. Small forwards [player_tooltip player_id="850498" first="Jonathan" last="Kuminga"] and [player_tooltip player_id="850499" first="Trey" last="Patterson"] were both named second team All-State, while [player_tooltip player_id="850500" first="Adama" last="Sanogo"] is one of the top post players in New Jersey. He is not the only talented post player as the junior class is full of solid big men. Here are the top 2021 post stock risers.

[player_tooltip player_id="900333" first="Rafael" last="Castro"], 6’9 PF Dover

No junior improved its stock more than Castro did after a dominant junior season for the Tigers. The 6’9 power forward led the state in rebounding and finished fourth in blocks. Castro has a soft touch around the basket and knows how to finish through contact. He has a nice looking jumper and can handle the ball on the perimeter. Castro has received five D1 offers since the end of February and that number will only go up as he enters his senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id="850516" first="Samson" last="Johnson"], 6’9 PF Patrick School

Sanogo and [player_tooltip player_id="850501" first="Bretner" last="Mutombo"] entered the 2019-20 season with more recognition, but it was Johnson who made the All-Non Public third team. The Togolese native is a big-time shot-blocker with his extremely long arms and timing. Johnson excels at running the floor and catching lobs in transition. He has a nice looking jumper and range that extends past the three-point line. Johnson is a skilled power forward who should be on the radars of high major schools.

[player_tooltip player_id="900295" first="Matthew" last="Delaney"], 6’6 SF/PF St. Augustine

Delaney is more of a combo forward, but counts for this list as he plays down low for the Hermits. The 6’6 junior is one of the top rebounders in South Jersey and uses his strong frame to get position down low. Delaney has a nice touch around the basket and plays with good footwork in the post. He is a solid post defender and is an underrated passer out of the post. Delaney has a good chemistry with small forward [player_tooltip player_id="900318" first="John" last="Horner"] and sophomore point guard [player_tooltip player_id="901944" first="Elmarko" last="Jackson"], making St. Augustine the favorite to repeat as Non-Public A South champions.

[player_tooltip player_id="900357" first="Nicolo" last="Nobili"], 6’9 PF Paul VI

[player_tooltip player_id="850529" first="Wisler" last="Sanon"] is Paul VI’s top player, but Nobili is the team’s difference-maker down low. The Italian native is a classic stretch four with range that extends past the three-point line. Nobili has a nice touch around the basket and is unafraid to mix it up down low. He is a tough rebounder down low and is an underrated post defender. Paul VI was upset by St. Augustine in the Non-Public A South semifinals, but the junior trio of Nobili, Sanon and [player_tooltip player_id="900324" first="Jaylen" last="Boyd-Savage"] could lead the Eagles to a title in 2020-21.

[player_tooltip player_id="900308" first="Wesley" last="Robinson"], 6’6 PF Life Center

Robinson is a point forward who knows how to take over a game. He uses his strong frame to finish through contact around the basket. Robinson has range that extends past the three-point line and is quite comfortable playing on the perimeter. He is one of the best rebounders in the junior class and makes plays with the ball in his hands. Robinson’s ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor makes him one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2021 class.

[player_tooltip player_id="900301" first="Chris" last="Rubayo"], 6’8 PF Montgomery
