With graduation not too far away and college on the horizon, here’s a look at the top available Seniors in the bluegrass state. They are broken down by position group and in order by their spot in the PHKY rankings.
Small Forwards/Wings
Terrin Hamilton Terrin Hamilton 6'6" | SF Scott County | 2020 State KY , Scott County – One of the breakout players in the 2019-2020 season, Hamilton averaged 21 points and 9 rebounds per game with shooting splits of 50/34/82. Terrin is 6’6 with a 6’9 wingspan and athletic. His college level depends on his academics but he could certainly be a D1 kid after a Juco stint.
Cam Underwood Cam Underwood 6'3" | SF Butler | 2020 State KY , Butler – One of the better “under the radar” recruits in Louisville, Cam scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds per game this season and excelled at getting to the rim or posting up smaller defenders. Underwood plays much bigger than he is thanks to great length. Despite an underwhelming season statistically (Butler was very balanced on offense), Cam has potential as a big wing at the next level.
Trey Brock Trey Brock 6'4" | SF Middlesboro | 2020 State KY , Middlesboro – Brock averaged 15 points and 6 rebounds per game for the Yellow Jackets and is one of the best athletes in the class. He holds an offer from D3 Emory and Henry and is capable of being a scholarship level player, especially in a wide open system that plays with pace so he can showcase his athleticism.
Chez Moore Chez Moore 6'6" | SF Louisville Collegiate | 2020 State KY , Collegiate – Speaking of great athletes, Chesimon Moore fits the mold of a D1 wing. He’s 6’6, long and athletic and put up big numbers for Collegiate over the course of his career. For whatever reason, Moore never got much exposure and has been pretty under-recruited thus far. I think he’s a scholarship level player and just needs a coach to believe in him.
Matthew Taylor Matthew Taylor 6'3" | SF Corbin | 2020 State KY , Corbin – One of the least heralded players in the class that quietly had an awesome career for the Redhounds, Taylor is worth a look for some colleges. I don’t know that he wants to play at the next level but he is a better prospect than some players who already committed in the class and would be worth a look for D2 and NAIA schools looking for a do it all wing.
Nathan Mack Nathan Mack 6'5" | SF Bourbon County | 2020 State KY , Bourbon County – His numbers won’t wow anyone but Mack is one of the better prospects on this list because he has what all coaches seem to covet, length and upside. He was a started for Frederick Douglass before transferring to Bourbon County his Senior year and is arguable a better college prospect than any of the other available Seniors in the 10th region.
Thomas Spencer Thomas Spencer 6'4" | SF Wayne County | 2020 State KY , Wayne County – A two sport athlete who has had college looks for basketball and football, Thomas was by far the best player for a Wayne team that was down this season. Spencer averaged 22 points and 6 rebounds this year while shooting 58/38/64 for the year. With good positional size and a solid motor, some college could get a steal with Thomas in the near future, if he chooses to play basketball.
