<p>The First Team is headlined by Mississippi State-signee [player_tooltip player_id="868075" first="Deivon" last="Smith"] who averaged 17.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.4 assists, 3.3 steals and 1.1 blocks. His stat stuffing on the state’s best team throughout the season makes him an easy pick. Auburn-signee [player_tooltip player_id="605746" first="Sharife" last="Cooper"] followed up his MaxPreps National Player of the Year campaign by dumping in 30.6 points, 7.8 assists and 3.6 steals. He carried his re-tooled McEachern team to a Final 4 appearance. Xavier-signee [player_tooltip player_id="751856" first="Dwon" last="Odom"] broke records over his historic St. Francis career as the Knights repeated as state champs. Odom averaged 20.6 points, 5 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 2.2 steals as St. Francis’ catalyst. Denver-signee [player_tooltip player_id="868087" first="Sam" last="Hines"] shocked the nation with his 28 points (11-12 FG) and 9 rebounds in Wheeler’s upset of Grayson in the Class 7A state title game. Hines was a workhorse all season, quietly carrying Wheeler to the top of the state, averaging 17.8 points and 8.8 rebounds, winning Region 2 Co-Player of the Year. Our final pick on the first team is All-American [player_tooltip player_id="691431" first="Walker" last="Kessler"]. The UNC-signee finished his career with a state title and averaged 17.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 5.2 blocks per game.<br />
