Things have been crazy in the world of sports over the last week, but none-the-less, the Regional tournaments are still set to be played on Saturday. Despite all the uncertainty and the questions that need to be asked and answered, let’s take a look at the best games on the slate for the morning games of the Regional tournaments.

4A

Brownsburg vs. Indianapolis Pike - 12:00 - Southport

The top 4A basketball game will feature a rematch from earlier in the season in which Brownsburg prevailed 61-55 just one month ago. Brownsburg is led by their pair of seniors, [player_tooltip player_id="875668" first="Malek" last="Edmonds"] and [player_tooltip player_id="875757" first="Connor" last="Lucas"], as well as [player_tooltip player_id="874109" first="Pierce" last="Thomas"], a top 10 player in Indiana’s 2021 class. Pike is led by senior, Davion Bailey, and junior, Eddie Jones. These two teams should give us a great down that will come down to the wire.

Greenwood vs. Evansville Reitz - 10:00 - Seymour

Greenwood’s inside-out duo of [player_tooltip player_id="785311" first="Gavin" last="Dowling"] and [player_tooltip player_id="870270" first="Brock" last="Kincaid"] has given them one of their best seasons in recent memory, probably since the 2006 season. The key for Evansville Reitz this season has been [player_tooltip player_id="529565" first="Khristian" last="Lander"], the 2021 Indiana University commit. However, they also have two dynamic players in [player_tooltip player_id="875745" first="Mar’Quan" last="Givens"] and [player_tooltip player_id="783155" first="Owen" last="Dease"] who will play a big part in this Regional.

Merrillville vs. Valparaiso - 1:00 - Michigan City

Merrillville and Valparaiso were two of the surprise Sectional winners in 4A by beating Munster and Chesterton. Nonetheless, they should give us a great game on Saturday. Merrillville is lead by their duo of juniors, [player_tooltip player_id="783153" first="Keon" last="Thompson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="783168" first="Dorian" last="Harris"]. Valparaiso is led by Brandon Mack and [player_tooltip player_id="874152" first="Colton" last="Jones"]. Both of these teams are going to need big efforts and some of their best performances of the season to advance past this weekend.

Fort Wayne Snider vs. Marion - 10:00 - Logansport

These two teams met in the final game of the regular season in which we saw Snider come away with an 86-81 victory. This game should give us more of the same. Fort Wayne Snider is led by a pair of Rose-Hulman commits, [player_tooltip player_id="875671" first="Dillon" last="Duff"] and [player_tooltip player_id="785253" first="Isaac" last="Farnsworth"], as well as a top 15 players in the 2021 class, [player_tooltip player_id="874111" first="Michael" last="Eley"]. Marion lost [player_tooltip player_id="874110" first="Jalen" last="Blackmon"] to a knee injury early in the season, but they have not let that stop them. [player_tooltip player_id="875696" first="Jakylen" last="Thomas"] and [player_tooltip player_id="643490" first="Rasheed" last="Jones"] have been the two guys that have stepped up to help this Giants team.

Culver Academy vs. Northridge - 11:00 - Michigan City

Culver Academy is led by a pair of seniors, [player_tooltip player_id="875652" first="Trey" last="Galloway"] and [player_tooltip player_id="567876" first="Nick" last="Hittle"]. Galloway, the Indiana recruit, has been one of the top players this season, and he is going to be a tough player to stop. Northridge is led by their duo of [player_tooltip player_id="650357" first="Alexander" last="Stauffer"] and [player_tooltip player_id="874179" first="Sam" last="Smith"]. This is going to be a tough challenge for Northridge, but they are probably the team that matches up best with Culver in this Regional.

3A

Silver Creek vs. Heritage Hills - 10:00 - Washington

This Regional matchup is easily one of the most anticipated of the weekend as it features two of the top three teams in the class. It is also a rematch of a Hall of Fame Classic matchup in which Silver Creek came out on top 82-78 in overtime. Heritage Hills is led by Simon Sherry, [player_tooltip player_id="875659" first="Murray" last="Becher"], and [player_tooltip player_id="874112" first="Blake" last="Sisley"]. Silver Creek is led by juniors [player_tooltip player_id="529572" first="Trey" last="Kaufman"] and [player_tooltip player_id="569321" first="Kooper" last="Jacobi"] as well as sophomore Brandon Northern.

Delta vs. Fort Wayne Leo - 12:00 - New Castle

This game should be highly-competitive, but it is nearly impossible to compare these two teams. The only similarity in their schedule is 20 point wins over Jay County. Delta is led by [player_tooltip player_id="875749" first="Zach" last="Garner"] and [player_tooltip player_id="647220" first="Brady" last="Hunt"]. Fort Wayne Leo is led by [player_tooltip player_id="875734" first="Andrew" last="Tkacz"] and [player_tooltip player_id="874150" first="Blake" last="Davison"]. This will be a must-see game this weekend.

Greensburg @ Washington - 12:00 - Washington

Washington will be playing on their home floor, but their home-court advantage may be gone. Nonetheless, this should be an entertaining game. Greensburg is led by Wright State commit, [player_tooltip player_id="567860" first="Andrew" last="Welage"], along with [player_tooltip player_id="874113" first="Lane" last="Sparks"] who averaged 29 points per game in the Sectional tournament. Washington is led by Grant Niehaus who was also named to the 3A All-Sectional team with Sparks of Greensburg. There will be a lot of talent on the floor for this Regional all together.

Norwell vs. NorthWood - 10:00 - New Castle

There isn’t much to compare these teams’ schedules as they only have a common opponent in a 15 victory over Columbia City. Norwell has a slight advantage in this one, but we should see a competitive game throughout. Norwell has been led by their senior star, [player_tooltip player_id="875691" first="Will" last="Geiger"]. Ben Vincent and Jason Borkholder have been the leaders for NorthWood this season.

Danville vs. Beech Grove - 10:00 - Greencastle

Danville has dominated Beech Grove over the last 20 years winning 10 of their 11 meetings, but Beech Grove will have something to say about that in Greencastle this weekend. Danville has been led this season by their senior trio of [player_tooltip player_id="785193" first="Dillon" last="Ware"], [player_tooltip player_id="875728" first="Sam" last="Comer"], and [player_tooltip player_id="875778" first="Peyton" last="Roof"]. Beech Grove is led by their senior trio of [player_tooltip player_id="875690" first="Vincent" last="Pich"], [player_tooltip player_id="875725" first="Brice" last="Langford"], and [player_tooltip player_id="875799" first="Isaac" last="Stennett"]. These are two veteran teams that will rely on their experience this weekend.
