The semifinal round of the IHSAA Sectional Tournaments was full of excitement throughout the state. We saw everything from upsets to dominating performances. Now, let’s take a look at some of the top performers across the state.

Tyler Myers - 2023 - Evansville Day

Myers put up another 30 point performance in the Sectional semis with 35 points in Evansville Day’s 70-51 victory over Wood Memorial. Myers looks to lead Evansville Day to their second consecutive Sectional championship tonight against Northeast Dubois. This freshman is poised for big numbers throughout his entire career.

[player_tooltip player_id="874117" first="Malik" last="Stanley"] - 2021 - Warren Central

Stanley led Warren Central with 34 points in their 77-69 victory over North Central in Sectional 10. Warren Central won the state two years ago, but that is the only Sectional title that they have won since 2000. Stanley looks poised to lead the Warriors as they try to pull off an upset over #2 Lawrence North in the Sectional finals.

[player_tooltip player_id="529568" first="Luke" last="Goode"] - 2021 - Homestead

Goode put up 30 last night in Homestead’s, 84-63 victory over Fort Wayne South. Goode is one of the top prospects in the 2021 Class, and he is ready to lead Homestead to their sixth Sectional title in seven seasons against New Haven.

[player_tooltip player_id="874113" first="Lane" last="Sparks"] - 2021 - Greensburg

Sparks was dominant on the court against the host Connersville Spartans. He put up 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Greensburg rolled to a 65-49 victory. Sparks and the Pirates should not have trouble with South Dearborn in the Sectional finals, and they look ready for a run at a possible Regional finals appearance.

Jerry Bracey - 2020 - Mishawaka Marian

In one of the best games of the day, Mishawaka Marian held off South Bend St. Joseph 68-66 in an overtime thriller. This was largely due to a dominant performance by Jerry Bracey who put up 27 in the victory. Mishawaka Marian will take on the hosts, Jimtown, tonight, as they looked to win their first Sectional since 2016.

Alex Shackelford - 2020 - South Dearborn

Shackelford was dominant on Friday, and he was the main reason that South Dearborn was able to pull the upset over Batesville, 63-60. Shackelford put up 26 points before fouling out with 4 minutes to go in the game. He is going to need another big offensive performance if they can knock off Greensburg to win their first Sectional title in 1995.

Donovynn Lewis - 2020 - New Haven

Lewis put up 24 in New Haven’s victory over Huntington North. Lewis and New Haven will need another big performance as they take on Homestead. New Haven has not won a Sectional since 2017.

[player_tooltip player_id="567960" first="Jordan" last="Walters"] - 2020 - Harrison (WL)

Walters put up a dominant performance with 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead Harrison to a 51-48 victory over the favorites, Lafayette Jeff. Jeff was the #8 team in 4A, and with the win by Harrison, their road to their first Sectional title since 1999.

[player_tooltip player_id="874111" first="Michael" last="Eley"] - 2021 - Fort Wayne Snider

Eley put up 20 in Snider’s victory over East Noble in the Sectional semifinals. Snider’s roster is full of talent, and they have a chance to win their first Sectional title since the 2009 season.

[player_tooltip player_id="875716" first="Dawson" last="Eastes"] - 2020 - New Palestine

Eastes was given the nickname Domas, after Domas Sabonis, after his 15 points and 22 rebounds performance against Mt. Vernon (Fortville). He was the big reason that New Palestine was able to run away with the victory. He will look to lead the Dragons to their second consecutive Sectional title.
