Alter vs Wyoming
Jacob Conner Jacob Conner 6'7" | PF Alter | 2022 State OH is a lanky guard with some serious handles for his size. He will have to take care of the ball tonight while getting the likes of Brady Uhl Brady Uhl 6'1" | SG Alter | 2020 State OH , Conor Stolly Conor Stolly 6'8" | PF Alter | 2020 State OH , and Jack Smith Jack Smith 6'3" | SG Alter | 2020 State OH involved early. Jacob isn’t a score-first guard at the moment due to the shooters around him, but he does have the capability to hit big shots when needed.
Brady Uhl Brady Uhl 6'1" | SG Alter | 2020 State OH is Alter’s top scorer, and I look to him to point up some points tonight. He has the capabilities of lighting it up from deep, just as Jack Smith Jack Smith 6'3" | SG Alter | 2020 State OH and Conor Stolly Conor Stolly 6'8" | PF Alter | 2020 State OH do. One of the major factors here is Alter’s size with Jacob and Conor. They need to lock up Wyoming defensively with their lanky athleticism.
Isaiah Walker Isaiah Walker 6'5" | SG Wyoming | 2021 State OH is going to be key here for Wyoming. Already a d-I college prospect, we will really get to see his talents tonight. It will be interesting to see whether Smith or Conner gets the matchup against him, but Isaiah is going to have to be efficient offensively and be big inside for his team on defense. He is one of the best shooters in the state, while also adding about 9 rebounds a game. He’s a baller.
Evan Prater and Damien Crayton will also be essential. Evan is an ELITE football prospect committed to UC, and he can shoot lights out. He is coming off a 31 point performance from the district semi-final. Damien seems to always find himself with 10 or more points each game. I’ll be focusing more on him defensively for this matchup, as he will most likely have the liberty of taking on Brady Uhl Brady Uhl 6'1" | SG Alter | 2020 State OH .
Hughes vs Thurgood Marshall
Thurgood defeated Hughes 68-64 in regular-season play. (Dec. 18)
Camron Mckenzie Camron Mckenzie 6'3" | SG Bethany | 2021 State OH is going to be a major factor in tonight’s game. CamRon is a true scorer and can hit shots on you right when you think you had him locked up. He has scored 20+ in almost every game this season.
Kionte Thomas is going to be another factor. Kionte feeds his teammates and averages over 5 assists per game. Getting CamRon and Jaesean Martin involved early are only going to open up more opportunities for him at the rim. Kionte is efficient and loves to get out into transition. He was quiet in their first matchup, but that may be different this time around.
Mekhi Elmore Mekhi Elmore 6'1" | PG Thurgood Marshallchooligh | 2022 State OH is a young prospect who will need to get going early offensively. He has great handles, good passing abilities, but the young lefty can really heat up with his mid-long range jumpers.
Anthony McComb Anthony McComb 6'2" | SG Trotwood | 2021 State OH is another player to watch. He will have to take care of the ball tonight and be efficient in his decision making. Anthony is athletic and I expect him to show off his defensive skills tonight.
Purcell Marian vs Trotwood-Madison
For Purcell, it’s going to need to rain threes tonight from Jared Baldock and Andre Simmons. Both have the capabilities to do so, but the way Trotwood plays it may be difficult to get a decent look from outside. Trotwood is the most uptempo team in the state, and they will run all over you both offensively and defensively for all 4 quarters.
Sammy Anderson and Carl Blanton Carl Blanton 6'2" | SG Trotwood | 2020 State OH are two players to watch. They both average over 20 points per game. In a transition team like Trotwood, they also love sharing the ball. They average over 18 assists per game as a team and have 5 players scoring 10+ each game.
