The theory in new york is you have to play at a AA school. B division schools are ’inferior". Diamonds in the rough are always found on this level. Several B division players earn a spot on a collegiate level. The B division is very competitive this year. The top six seeds are undefeated. Fannie Lou Hamer was the B division powerhouse. Currently, South Bronx prep is the defending city champ. The Cougars have a great chance to repeat.

South Bronx Prep (16-0)

Defending NYC champions have been on a great run so far. The Cougars defeated Community Health Academy 74-56 in the first round. Eligah Avila led with 27 points and 5 rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id="945018" first="Eric" last="Davis"] finished with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists. Devon Lewis added 17 points and 7 rebounds. In the second round of the postseason, South Bronx Prep defeated Baruch College campus 64-55. [player_tooltip player_id="945526" first="Steven" last="Turner"] took over the game with 29 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Cougars will face (3) Seed Summit Academy in the quarter-finals on 3/07/20 at 11:00 AM.

Uncommon Charter (17-0)

The Sabers enter the postseason as the number 1 seed. Uncommon Charter was also the number 1 seed last season. The Sabers came up short in the semi-finals against Fannie Lou Hamer 35-46. This season the Sabers are looking to get over the hump. Uncommon Charter defeated Democracy Prep 80-57 in the first round. Doran Williams led the Sabers with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Ahzariah Douglas added 14 points and 5 Rebounds. The Sabers beat HS for Math & Science 62-40 in the second round. Ahzariah Douglas led with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Doran Williams put up 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Uncommon Charter will face (9) seed Bathgate in the quarter-finals 3/07/20 at 4:15 pm.

Fannie Lou Hamer (16-0)

Last year’s runner up is looking to get back to the title game. Fannie Lou Hamer knocked off the best team in the city and lost in the championship game in 2019. The Panthers perfect league play record this season, granted them a (4) seed. The Panthers defeated Teachers Prep 75-63 in the first round. [player_tooltip player_id="945060" first="Anthony" last="Rose"] led with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Jamal Kanu added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Last season they lost by 10 in the quarterfinals to Fannie Lou. Summit Academy is determined to change that this season. The Eagles beat Collaborative Education and Pace HS in the first two rounds. Jordan Council is averaging 24 points in the postseason. Jeremiah Hewitt is averaging 14.5 points in the playoffs. The Eagles will face South Bronx Prep in the quarterfinals on 03/07/20 at 11:00 AM.

Upset Alert !!!!!

Number (12) seed Maspeth knocked off undefeated (5) seed Brooklyn College Academy 64-63. Maximilla Egner is leading the Pack averaging 24 points in the playoffs.
