Class 1, District 1 (at Southland)) Cooter (16-8) vs. Clarkton (12-13), 7:30 p.m. – Top seeded Cooter has an excellent 3-point shooter in Jacob Watkins, who hit 12 treys and scored 51 points in a recent game. Clarkton features a nice freshman in guard Izaya Gorman. (Prediction: Cooter)
Class 1, District 2 (at Bell City): Delta (23-5) vs. Oak Ridge (18-9), 7:15 p.m. – The two teams have met three times with Delta winning all three with all of them being very high scoring games. It should be another exciting high scoring contest with this one being for a district title. Eric Berry and Isaiah Thomas are excellent players for Delta with the potent backcourt of David Layton and Zach Legrand lead Oak Ridge. (Prediction: Delta)
Class 1, District 3 (at South Iron): South Iron (28-0) vs. Lesterville (21-7), 7:30 p.m. -South Iron comes in with a 21-7 record and a No. 2 ranking in the state. They feature one of the state’s top backcourts in Brock Wakefield and Drenin Dinkins. Lesterville has a solid group with five players who can all score in double figures. They gave SI quite in battle in their last meeting. (Prediction: South Iron)
Class 1, District 13 (at Norbonne): Southwest Livingston (19-5) vs. Orrick (18-8), 7:30 p.m. – The two teams met earlier in the season with SW Livingston taking a 65-58 victory at Orrick. SW Livingston has one of the top players in NW Missouri in 6’6″ 2020 forward Mack Anderson. He can dominate. (Prediction: SW Livingston);
Class 2, District 2 (at Van Buren): Thayer (19-5) vs Alton (20-7), 7:30 p.m. – Top-seeded Thayer has put together a nice string of six consecutive district titles. Looking to lead them to No. 7 are junior Jayce Haven and 2022’s Jordan Andrews and Gaige Pitts. Alton has a nice duo of its own in 2020 guard Cainan Heck and 2021 guard Drew Clary. The two teams split a pair of meetings this season, so this is the rubber match. (Prediction: Thayer)
Class 3, District 3 (at Bloomfield): Oran (23-5) vs. St. Vincent (20-6), 7:30 p.m. – Top-seed Oran is back in familiar territory as they play for another district title with hopes of another deep playoff run. They were state runners-up last season. (Prediction: Oran)
