Continue ReadingWith the SIAA and FHSAA regional tournament starting up, it is a good time to find a lot of unsigned talent in the state of Florida. This is a list of the top ten unsigned prospects that will be playing this week in the SIAA and FHSAA regional tournaments.
Devin Carter, the son of former NBA player Anthoney Carter, has been injured for much of his senior season. He has offers from FIU, FAU, Depaul, and East Carolina but has yet to sign. At 6’4″ Devin is an all-around shooting guard who has been somewhat under scouted because of his injury. His team is lost last night in the 6A playoffs, so a decision should follow soon.
Tony Sanders, 6’7″ small forward has multiple D1 offers. FSU, Georgia, Dayton, South Carolina, and Yale are top of his list. He is an athletic wing player who finishes strong at the basket. Right now he is playing for Gulliver Prep. His team is a 2 seed in the 4A playoffs, Region 4. Last night they won their first game against Hallandale 83-74. Gulliver Preps next game is February 25th at 7 pm vs. Pine Crest.
Roger McFarlane, 6’4″ Guard with a few offers from Appalachian State, Columbia, New Orleans, and Tennessee Tech. He is a strong defensive threat on the court. Roger led University to a blowout win in the first round of the 4A, Region 4 playoffs against Mater Lakes Academy. University’s next game is against Stranahan February 25th at 7 pm.
Jalen Haynes 6’9″ forward looks to make another deep playoff run with Dillard. Jalen has offers from USF, Mississippi State, FGCU, FAU, UCF, and Western Kentucky. Dillard is a two seed in the 6A district, Region 4 playoffs. Last night Dillard won their first game against North Miami. Dillards next game will be February 25th at 7 pm, against Martin County.
Keegan Harvey has no offers. Standing around 6’10” this PF/C should find his way to the next level. He plays for Montverde high school in the freelance division.
Keano Calderon at 6’6″ this wing player has offers from Washington, Buffalo, UNF, FAU, Stetson, and UAB. He has an impressive game that can spread the floor and get to the rim with ease. He plays for Oak Ridge High School at the 7A district. Oak Ridge is in region one and will face off against the 1 seed February 25th, at 7 pm.
Deangelo Elisee at 6’8″, Deangelo is a strong, athletic forward but has yet to receive any offers at this point. He plays for North Florida Educational Institute in the 2A division. North Florida Educational Institute is a one seed in Region 1 and won their first game 79-43. They will play February 25th, at 7 pm against Impact Christian Academy.
Kario Oquendo 6’4″, plays for Titusville in the 4A district. This shooting guard was performing highlight plays in the first round of the high school playoffs. You could see why he has offers from Appalachian State, FAU, FGCU, UNF, USF, and Wake Forest.
Jadrian Tracey 6’5″ small forward plays for West Oaks in the SIAA. Jadrian has great vision with the ball in hands. Put that with a solid jump shot and Jadrian will be a good pick up for any of these schools. Their next game will be February 24th, at 7:30 pm. Currently, Jadrian has offers from FGCU, FIU, USF, UCF, and Murray State.
Brandon Sanders 6’10” Center. FGCU and Illinois State have reached to Brandon. He plays for South Miami High School in the 6A district. February 25th at 7 pm they will face off against the number one seed (Mater Academy Charter) in region 4.
