The Mineral Area Activities Association concluded its conference tournament on Saturday at Mineral Area College in Park Hills. Top seeded Park Hills Central defeated rival North County for the championship. In the third place game, Farmington defeated Ste. Genevieve.

Here is a look at the top guards and wings from the weekend’s Final Four of the tournament.

Mason Williams 5’10 Park Hills Central: The 2023 guard scored a game-high 19 points in the Rebels victory over North County in the championship game. The Raiders employed a triangle-and-two defense, which left Williams open, daring him to beat them. He did. He hit several mid range jumpers, scored on drives and hit a couple of 3-pointers

Karter Kekec 6’1 North County: The athletic 2021 wing was one of the top players in the tournament. He scored 36 points in the semifinals win over Ste. Gen and 18 in the championship game. He is a very resourceful offensive player who sniffs buckets. He has an excellent mid range jumper, plus he can attack the basket and score at all kinds of angles around the rim.

Bracey Blanton 5’8 Farmington: The 2022 guard had an excellent tournament with 26 points in the semifinals against Park Hills Central and 20 points in the third place game victory over Ste Gen. He shot the ball extremely well with a streak of hitting eight consecutive 3-pointers over a two-game period. He also displayed some quickness and the ability to penetrate into the lane.

Brent Wagner 6’3 Park Hills Central: The 2020 wing had a big game in the semifinals with 20 points and nine rebounds in a victory over Farmington. He plays a fine all-around game with his ability to score, rebound, handle the ball when needed and play solid defense. He is very good at finding openings in the defense and getting buckets, whether it was on drives or the offensive boards.

Brant Gray 6’3 Farmington: The 2021 wing scored 15 points in the third place win over St. Gen. He was primarily a catch-and-shoot player last year. He can still shoot it, but he has also improved his drive game and cutting ability this year. He is also a more active rebounder this year with his team playing two smaller guards.

Logan Trollinger 5’7 Ste. Genevieve: The 2021 guard scored 17 points in the semifinals against North County. He is a solid ball handler who displayed a nice jumper off the bounce. He has the ability to play at a good pace while being under control.
