On Saturday I attended the The Rising Sun Showcase. One of the last stops of the prestigious Grind Session at the Phhacility in Phoenix, AZ.

Here were some more of the standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id="930932" first="Arthur" last="Kaluma"] PF 6’7 2021 Dream City Christian

-Strong true power forward is currently stronger then all of his opponents. He has incredible hands to rebound the ball way out of his area with an elite motor. He is a great offensive rebounder. He can make a catch-3 and create shots for himself to score it inside the paint with a creative layup package. He is a very good passer and you won’t find many more competitive.

[player_tooltip player_id="930931" first="Alex" last="Tchikou"] PF 6’11 2021 Dream City Christian

-A long shooting forward is very comfortable and confident shooting from mid to the 3pt line. He is best off the catch or using a 1-dribble pull-up. He is a big time shot blocker in space and covers a lot of ground on defense with his fluidity and grace. He closes out to shooters quickly. He rebounds well in his area and runs like a deer.

[player_tooltip player_id="701227" first="Sadraque" last="Nganga"] SF 6’9 2022 AZ Compass Prep

-A big time prospect does many things well. He can create any shot he wants. He likes the 3pt shot and drives to the cup scoring through contact. He takes super long strides and will get fouled or make a tough contested layup. In the post he makes his move quickly to score before the defense gets settled in or double teams him.

[player_tooltip player_id="804753" first="Jabari" last="Walker"] PF 6’7 2020 AZ Compass Prep

-Walker is a long and active face-up 4-man. They were down big to Prolific and he completely changed the game with three 3’s in a row plus making plays with his passing and defensive rebounding. He also sent some balls away near the rim and is more athletic than he gets credited with. His IQ for the game jumps out at you.

[player_tooltip player_id="703792" first="Tyrone" last="Washington"] Jr PG 6’4 2021 AZ Compass Prep

-A highly skilled PG with great size. He changes speeds better than anyone on the Grind Session and it is nearly impossible to speed him up. He has a smooth jumper from mid to the 3pt line and and is one of the better passers in the state. He loves the challenge of trying to stop the best player on every team regardless of who it is. He uses his quickness, huge wingspan and strength to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id="927764" first="Blaise" last="Beauchamp"] SG 6’1 2020 Bella Vista Prep

-A big time shooter from anywhere on the court. He may be the most consistent shooter left on the board with an ultra quick release. He can drive the lane and use the floater. He is a smart passer but prefers to score it. He is thinner but very competitive and quick to defend and rebound.
