This is part 2 of a 3-part series of some of the standout players from west Alabama. These players are not to be overlooked. There is loads of talent that goes unrecruited year in and year out and if you are looking for hungry, hard-nosed players with loads of potential then it wouldn't hurt to check out this region.

Javion McCrary, PG (Pickens County)

McCrary is a guard with nice height and size. though he is only a sophomore, he is bigger than most upperclassmen at his position. Good speed and athleticism. Excels in the open court and finding a way to get to the basket. Has an array of ISO moves and can go get his own shot at any time during the game. Very physical and welcomes contact when attacking the rim. He is not a great shooter but he is a solid shooter so his opponents have to respect his shot. Very streaky and can go for 10-15 straight points at any time during the game. A competitor with a mean streak on the court. Needs to work on his pace and decision making. Easily one of the best guards in Alabama's class of 2022. Keep a close eye on him and look for his stock to rise after this year's summer circuit.

TJ Jones, F/C (Central Tuscaloosa)

The senior big man has been playing very well this season. He has stepped into a leadership role for his team and has taken on a bigger responsibility on the offensive end. A polarizing figure on the court because of his size. He has improved at making himself more available in the post. Because of his improvement, he demands double teams on a nightly basis and that will play a big part on how far he helps his team go in the playoffs. Has solid footwork in the post. Good hands and rarely misses any passes. If you are looking a big with a great attitude that will eventually develop into a solid player for your program, then this is a guy you should drop in and take a look at.

Sedrick Pettway, SF (Northridge)

This senior guard/forward is very fluent in everything he does on the court. Doesn't have many weaknesses and is very solid in most areas of the game. A tough task for any opponent. Has a very smooth handle, to go along with a nice pull up jumper. Has range out to the three but needs to become more consistent. Good at utilizing the mid-range game to his advantage. Can finish at the rim in traffic with either hand. Would be a nice pick up for a program that is looking for a player that could potentially come in and play significant minutes as a freshman.

Jamel King, G/F (Paul Bryant)

King has loads of potential. Equipped with all the tools of a prototypical small forward. A great shooter, has long arms and is super athletic. Needs to learn different ways to use his body to get easy buckets. Also needs to add more muscle to his frame. One of the more talented players in Alabama class of 2020 but i hear that he may be reclassifying to the class of 2021 which i think will further help in his development as a player. Keep a very close eye on this prospect.

Ke'unta Jordan, CG (Holt)

Class of 2022 guard that could be the sleeper of this class. Very smooth player with a nice package of moves to go along with his athletic ability. When the ball is in his hands he tries to go and score almost every time. If he is not scoring, then he is making other things happen on the floor. Very quick hands on the perimeter and loves to get in the passing lanes on defense. Needs to add more muscle to his skinny frame but that does not stop him from attacking the basket and finishing over bigger opponents. Look for Jordan to make a big splash on the upcoming summer circuit.

Devin Collins, SG (Tuscaloosa County)

This class of 2021 guard is a flat out shooter. Has a very smooth jumper off the dribble and an even smoother set shot when his feet is set. Rarely ever misses open shots. Good at squaring his body coming off screens. Needs to work on his handle to become more effective on the perimeter. Also needs to get stronger to take the bumps when attacking the basket.

AJ Hall, PG (Northridge)

This junior guard is a speed demon in the open floor. Fearless on the offensive and defensive end. Sacrifices his body and hustles to make things happen for his team. Has the ability to shoot the 3. Good hesitation moves to help him get to the basket. Great floater in the lane but can be out of control at times. Has a great feel for the game and is good at putting his teammates in position to score.
