Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase: Top Players to Watch

<p>The 4th annual Coaches vs. Cancer Showcase will take place on Saturday at Central Regional High School. This event will feature 10 teams from all over the state who are playing for a great cause. There will be no shortage of talent when these teams do battle on Saturday. Here are the top players to watch during the event.</p> <p><strong>Jakari Spence (2020) | Toms River North</strong></p> <p>Spence will play in the final game on Saturday and will be one of the top players at the event. He is scoring 23.2 points per game and dishing out 4.2 assists. Spence has three 30 points games this season and scored his 1,000th career point earlier in the season during the WOBM Christmas Classic. There is no doubt that Spence will look to put on a show on the offensive end once again during this event.</p> <p><strong>Patrick Lacey (2021) | Wall</strong></p> <p>Lacey has taken the next step during his junior year. He is one of many disciplined guards on Wall and this will continue throughout the season. Lacey is averaging 11 points per game this season. He fits in perfectly with the way Wall likes to play. That is patient and under control with a lot of movement. Lacey will look to lead Wall in this game against one of the other top teams in the Shore in Toms River North.</p> <p><strong>Pete Gorman (2020) | Mater Dei</strong></p> <p>Mater Dei is off to a 7-3 start this season and Gorman is a huge reason why. He is averaging 20.5 points per game this season. His most recent game was a 30 point performance in a win over Point Pleasant Beach where he knocked down seven three's. Gorman is an elite shooter from deep and can it done from inside the paint and free throw line. When Mater Dei takes on CBA on Saturday, Gorman will be the top player to watch.</p> <p><strong>Daniel Skillings (2022) | St. Joe's (Hamm.)</strong></p> <p>St. Joe's has won seven of their first nine games. They have a strong core of players and Skillings is one of the big ones. The 6'5 sophomore is averaging 17.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. He has finished with 10 or more points in every game this season and has scored 20 or more points four times. Skillings has two double-doubles on the season. He is a big bodied player who has finesse around the rim. Skillings will lead his team over the course of his high school career.</p> <p><strong>Najae Hallenbeck (2020) | Toms River North</strong></p> <p>Hallenbeck has been the other sensational senior with Spence on Toms River North. The 6'6 center has been a force on both sides of the ball. He is averaging 20.1 points and 10.6 rebounds per game this season. Hallenbeck is a double-double machine and a threat every time he steps on the court. For a big man, Hallenbeck has a smooth jump shot and soft touch around the rim.</p> <p><strong>Noah Klinewski (2020) | Eastern</strong></p> <p>Klinewski has been putting the ball in the basket at a high rate to begin the season. He is scoring 16.7 points per game this season and has finished in double-figures in eight of the first 10 games. It does not matter who the opponent has been, Klinewski has been able to score. That will not change in this game.</p>
