Boy’s Top 10 Teams

<p>Rankings are a huge part of all sports at all levels. Why not join in the fun? This is my top 10 regardless of class.</p> <p>* This isn't a state champion prediction. It's just 1 guy's opinion on 1 given day. I'm anxious to hear people's opinions!</p> <h2>Knocking On The Door</h2> <p>Ann Arbor Huron </p> <p>Detroit Cass Tech</p> <p>Detroit King</p> <p>East Lansing</p> <p>Hudsonville</p> <p>Muskegon</p> <p>Williamston</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h2>Number 10</h2> <p>Grand Rapids Catholic Central (Division 2)</p> <p>Grand Rapids Catholic Central could very easily argue for a higher ranking. Their lone loss was to number 5 Grand Rapids Christian and they have a top 10 win over River Rouge. <strong>Devon Boyd </strong>(2020, G) and <strong>Mykel Bingham </strong>(2020, F) are leading the way. </p> <h2>Number 9</h2> <p>Flint Beecher (Division 3)</p> <p>Beecher has 3 dynamic stars in their backcourt. <strong>Jalen Terry </strong>(2020, G), <strong>Ernie Sanders</strong> (2020, SG), and <strong>Keyon Menifield </strong>(2021, G) make up a dynamic backcourt. They are all explosive playmakers with elite handles. </p> <h2>Number 8</h2> <p>Benton Harbor (Division 2)</p> <p>Any team that has <strong>Scooby Johnson </strong>(2020, SF) is a threat. Benton Harbor has somehow flown a bit under the radar this season, but with their superstar and plethora of backcourt and wing talent, they're a contender. </p> <h2>Number 7</h2> <p>Detroit Frederick Douglass (Division 2)</p> <p>Frederick Douglass is led by one of the state's top players, <strong>Pierre Brooks II</strong>. They have additional talent all over the floor. <strong>Donivan Peoples </strong>(2020, G) and <strong>Zavion McClendon </strong>(2020, G) are star caliber players in their own right. </p> <h2>Number 6</h2> <p>Grand Blanc (Division 1)</p> <p>Grand Blanc just lost to Warren Mott last night. Not much can be taken away from them since they played without sophomore stud <strong>Ty Rodgers </strong>(2022, SF). Grand Blanc is loaded with next level talent like <strong>Mark Miller </strong>(2020, G).</p> <h2>Number 5</h2> <p>Grand Rapids Christian (Division 2)</p> <p>Grand Rapids Christian is 6-0 and trending up as a state championship contender. <strong>Kobe Bufkin </strong>(2021, G) is a top 100 recruit in the country and is the head of the snake at Grand Rapids Christian. The supporting cast has really stepped up as well. </p> <h2>Number 4</h2> <p>River Rouge (Division 1</p> <p>To be the champs, you have to beat the champs. River Rouge has done that twice, beating Ypsilanti-Lincoln last year and again this year. They are led by versatile forward <strong>Legend Geeter </strong>(2021, F). While they lost many key players from last year, they've been restocked with high level talent. </p> <h2>Number 3</h2> <p>Ypsilanti-Lincoln (Division 1)</p> <p>Ypsilanti-Lincoln has a bunch of new pieces and have only played 4 games. As newcomers like <strong>Simon Wheeler </strong>(2021, PG) continue to mesh with superstar <strong>Emoni Bates </strong>(2022, G/F), the Railsplitters will be among the best in the state. </p> <h2>Number 2</h2> <p>Clarkston (Division 1)</p> <p>Clarkston has been playing very well as of late. <strong>Matt Nicholson </strong>(2020, C) has established himself as the premier post player in Michigan and a Mr. Basketball candidate. <strong>Fletcher Loyer </strong>(2022, G) and <strong>Keegan Waslik </strong>(2021, G) have become an elite and dynamic young backcourt. </p> <h2>Number 1</h2> <p>Orchard Lake St. Mary's</p> <p>This comes as no shock. With <strong>Lorne Bowman </strong>(2020, PG) and <strong>Julian Roper </strong>(2021, G) leading the way, the sky is the limit. They have talent and depth at seemingly every position. <strong>Kareem Rozier </strong>(2022, PG) has become recognized as one of the grittiest stars in Michigan. </p>
