Recruiting Report: Trevor Bounds (2020)
Trevor Bounds, a 6-foot-6 senior from Battlefield High School, has been one of the most productive players in the DMV this season. Bounds is averaging close to 20 points and 10 rebounds per game for the Bobcats. During a recent interview with Prep Hoops, he discussed his overall game and much more.
PH: For those who haven’t seen you play, how would you describe your game?
TB: “I’m a guy who brings his hard hat to the game each day. I just try to play my hardest every game. A lot of people think I’m just a shooter, which I can do, but I like to rebound. I average a double-double. I like to spread the ball around. I like to lead my team and I’m very unselfish. Those are my main focuses.”
PH: Talk about the improvement of your overall game in your time at Battlefield
TB: “My game has improved a lot. I’ve worked on my shot. I’m playing with more confidence. I’ve grown 5 inches since I’ve come to Battlefield, so that helps.”
PH: Your older brother, Trevor, also played at Battlefield for Coach Bills. What have you learned from him throughout this process?
TB: “I’ve learned a lot from my brother. Just competing against him every day and working out with him. He is a big reason why I play basketball and how I got as good as I am today. So I’m very thankful and I love him.”
PH: Who is currently recruiting you the hardest?
TB: “Stonehill College.”
PH: What are you looking for in a school?
TB: “I’m looking for that family environment. I’m not expecting minutes right away or anything. I just want to go to a place where I can get a good degree and play basketball which I love.”
