T.of.C: Top Rebounders

<p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">The Tournament of Champions showcased some of the best rebounders in the state. Here are some that stood out the most to us at Prep Hoops.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;"><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Isaiah Williams</span> - Millwood</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">8 RPG: Williams' exceptional athleticism and length helped him pull down boards all weekend long. A major factor that stood out was his timing on every jump. He showed great body control and the ability to go up strong every single time with no fear.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;"><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Ty Chester</span> - Garber</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">8 RPG: Chester had a very impressive weekend on the boards for Garber, but most impressively was the fact that over half of his rebounds came on the offensive side of the ball. His aggressiveness and great awareness made him stand out from the pack and it showed on his stat line.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;"><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Jameson Richardson</span> - Duke</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">9.3 RPG: The Abilene Christian commit showed out this weekend on the boards. Using his size and strength, Richardson pulled down rebound after rebound, helping keep all of Duke's matchups close to the end. The big man showed great footwork and technique on his boxout and plenty of promise for his D1 future.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;"><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Trey Alexander</span> - Heritage Hall</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">9.7 RPG: The 4-star guard showed off an insurmountable passion and drive through his aggressiveness on the glass. Alexander's rebounding helped Heritage Hall push the ball in transition and create opportunities for his teammates to get open and knock down shots.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;"><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Jalen Breathe</span> - Booker T. Washington</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">10 RPG: Breathe's size and tenacity on the boards played a huge role in Booker T. Washington's path to the championship. Breathe contributed a majority of his points off of offensive rebounds and put back layups, giving his opponents trouble on both sides of the rebounding battle.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;"><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">Sherod Davis</span> - Del City</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">10.3 RPG: Davis proved he deserved his spot on the floor, leading the tournament in rebounds. His drive and energy gave Del City the extra boost they needed to take home the trophy Saturday night. Davis's aggressiveness on the boards was unmatched all weekend long and proved to be a much necessary part of Del City's gameplan.</span></p>
