Borgia Turkey Tournament: Team Scouts
<p>Prep Hoops Missouri was in Washington, MO for the semifinals of the 67th annual St. Francis Borgia Turkey Tournament. Washington defeated cross-town rival Borgia 55-47 in the first semifinal game while Fort Zumwalt North defeated Pacific 60-33 in the second game. Here is a look at the four teams in the Borgia Tournament semifinals.</p>
<p><strong>Fort Zumwalt North</strong>: The Panthers looked like a team that is ready to make a serious jump this season as they thumped Pacific 60-33 in the semifinals. Zumwalt North has three important ingredients in a veteran point guard in 5'7" 2020 Grant Rapplean, an emerging wing in 6'6" 2021 sharpshooter K.J. Lee and a physical post player in 6'7" 2020 Mujtaba Alkhaldi. There are also solid pieces around them in 6'2" 2020 combo guard Devan Edwards, 6'5" 2021 forward Drake Stevenson and 6'2" 2020 wing Grant Fitzpatrick.</p>

<p><strong>Washington</strong>: The Blue Jays won just eight games last season, but they got 2019 off to a rousing start with victories over Normandy and cross-town rival Borgia to advance to the championship game. They have an impressive inside duo in 6'6" 2021 Todd Bieg and 6'4" 2021 Ryan Hoerstkamp. Bieg had a big game in the victory over Borgia in the semifinals while Hoerstkamp is a rugged post player who is just coming off an excellent football season. There is good size in the backcourt in brothers 6'2" 2020 Jeremiah Broadbent and 6'3" 2021 Brigham Broadbent. The junior dominated Blue Jays have good size and length.</p>

<p><strong>Borgia: </strong>The host Knights are small and quick and will depend on pressure defense and the 3-point shot quite a bit this season. The diminutive pair of 5'8"2020 Trent Strubberg and 5'9" 2021 Max Myers form a quick and exciting backcourt. Strubberg can penetrate in the lane while Myers is a lefty who can shoot the 3-pointer. The top 3-point threat is 6'3" 2020 wing Cole Weber, who hit six 3-pointers in the Knights' opening victory over Owensville. Slashing 6'2" 2020 wing Alex Brinkman is a lefty who can really attack the basket to get buckets.</p>

<p><strong>Pacific: </strong>The Indians are full of underclassmen, particularly in the 2021 class. Their top player is 6'3" 2021 guard Don'TA Harris, who is a slashing point guard with size and athletic ability. Fellow 2021s 5'10" Gavin Bukowski and 6'4" Gavin Racer also have offensive capabilities while 6'3" 2020 guard Dylan Myers, who was very active as a scorer and rebounder.</p>
