Weston Ranch High School Basketball Scrimmage PartII

<p>The Weston Ranch scrimmage was one of the last big time scrimmages before the teams start playing non-league, showcases, and tournament games. There was more than 24 teams participating with lots of prospect to cover. Here are some underclassmen in the class of 2021, who I thought played well at this event</p> <p><em><strong>Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa 6'2 2021 Brookside Christian</strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>Rubio</strong></em> is one of the better prospects in the class of 2021 in NorCal. He's been performing at a high level for a while now. At this event he knocked down open 3's with consistency. He continues to find his way into the paint for finishes with either hand.  He has good vision in the open court often making the right pass. He did a good job of handling teams that tried to trap and double team him.</p> <p><em><strong>Jaden Phillips 6'4 2021 Modesto Christian</strong></em></p> <p>This prospects is still finding his way with his new team, he'll find it.<em><strong> Phillips</strong></em> is going to be a big part what this team does. He has a long wiry frame and a good skill set. At 6'5 he's used to having the ball in his hands working from the top, with this team he works the wings and uses his tools to get to the basket, he likes to attack the rim with or without the ball. He can be assertive at times, and he brings the energy. He can guard multiple positions.</p> <p><em><strong>Yaru Harvey 6'4 2021 Sheldon</strong></em></p> <p>My first opportunity to see <em><strong>Harvey</strong> </em>play with his Sheldon teammates. He's a good sized guard who plays to his strengths, he's a good facilitator in the half court. His size and handles help him get into the lane where his long strides moves across the paint for reverse layups and other finishes for points. He's got good control of his body and can avoid body blows.</p> <p><em><strong>Sione Lose 6'4 2021 Capital Christian</strong></em></p> <p>This prospect seems to score points in a variety of ways from different angles and areas of the court. I saw nice moves to the basket from the baseline, then he knocks down his mid range with some consistency, he always seems to be in a position to score. He's calm and confident while adding up the points. He doesn't force shots, but he doesn't pass them up either.</p> <p><em><strong>Donjae' Lindsey 6'2 2021 Weston Ranch</strong></em></p> <p>The athletic guard has improved his offensive game, he looks to be more confident with the ball and looking to be more of a scoring threat. His good handles allowed him to get into the key and finish around the rim consistently. His shooting form is improved and he had good lift on his mid-range shot and the 3 point shot was going down at this event . His good instincts, quick hands, and foot speed on defense will cause problems for who ever he guards.</p> <p><em><strong>Emmanuel Callas 6'5 2021 Campolindo</strong></em></p> <p>I first saw <em><strong>Callas</strong></em> when he helped Camolindo win the state championship game in Div II last year. At 6'4 back then he was the most dominant inside player in that game. He was physical, he had good footwork, he scored inside, and grabbed rebounds. This past summer he played on a good Nor Cal WCE 16u team that allowed him to work on his perimeter game. At this event he wasn't just working inside. He showed his improved play away from the basket doing what wing prospects do. He had good drives into lanes and shot some 3's.
