Favorites to Win 4a Player of the Year

<p>Winning state player of the year is a great recognition for a player's on court display of talent. There are a variety of "State Player of the Year" awards, but this article is really just geared towards players in 4a class that have the best chance of winning the AP player of the year award in the 4a classification. </p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>4a State Player of the Year Front Runners:</strong></span></p> <p>1. <strong>Jabe Mullins</strong> (Mt. Si HS) </p> <ul> <li>Jabe is a tall combo guard at 6'6 and his Mt. Si Wildcats are one of the clear favorites to win 4a after a runner-up finish a year ago. He will be right near the top of scoring, rebounds and assists for his squad and his all around versatility puts him as the number one favorite to win 4a player of the year. *Saint Mary's Signee </li> </ul> <p>2. <strong>Liam Lloyd</strong> (Gonzaga Prep)</p> <ul> <li>The two time defending state champion will be without the state's former best player in Anton Watson, but Liam has proven his worth. He had some very good performances throughout the spring and summer and killed it at the WIBA D1 showcase. Do not be surprised to see Liam average upwards of 22 points per game in the GSL and lead Gonzaga Prep back to the Tacoma Dome. He could explode for some very high scoring games in the 30-35 range with his great shooting ability. *Grand Canyon Signee</li> </ul> <p>3. <strong>Tanner Toolson</strong> (Union HS)</p> <ul> <li>Union seems to be the most overlooked team every year by the mainstream media, but they cannot be overlooked once again. D1 recruit Tanner Toolson has blossomed into one of the state's most versatile scorers and I expect his team to perform at a very high level throughout the winter. He will have to put up especially big numbers with Union not playing as difficult of a schedule as some others, but he has a shot to win player of the year in 4a. </li> </ul> <p><em>Honorable mention: </em><strong>Tyler Patterson</strong> (Mt. Si HS)</p> <ul> <li>Tyler is fortunate to play on the same team as Jabe as they compliment each other so well, but it is very difficult for two players to be in contention for the same awards. Tyler will more than likely win defensive player of the year in his league, first team all state and contend for league MVP with his own teammate, Jabe, who won it last year. *Montana State signee</li> </ul> <p>Honorable mention: <strong>Jackson Grant</strong> (Olympia HS)</p> <ul> <li>The only junior on this list has a shot at winning player of the year as he should put up some really impressive individual numbers, but ultimately it comes down to how his team performs.
