The high school basketball season is quickly approaching, with tip-off just a couple of weeks away. Seniors are gathering some of their final offers and some even getting their recruitment stated as a late bloomer.

Here we take a look at the sure fire scholarship players still available. Some of the best guards we have in the state are still available and coaches shouldn’t waste time as they won’t be on the board for long.

Top Available:

CJ Anthony (2020) | 6-0 PG | Harvest Prep

The toughest guard in the state potentially. All Anthony does is work hard and make everyone around him better. A sure fire mid major at the Division l level, Anthony has what it takes. Physical guard that plays downhill and finishes everything around the rim. Capable shooter but best around the rim, the senior is a big time winner. A state championship his junior year, Anthony is the top guard available in the state.

Offers from Milwaukee, Air Force, Towson, Toledo, Robert Morris and Union

Mark Wise (2020) | 6-4 G | Cincinnati Taft

Wise simply dominates the game from the guard position. A bigger primary ball handler that often has a mismatch with other guards because of his size. Can play bully ball on the drive and score it at the rim with no problem. Rebounds from the guard position, passes the ball well off the drive. Complete guard!

Offers from Kent State, Florida Atlantic and Detroit Mercy

Trevell Adams (2020) | 5-10 G | Columbus South

Adams has that big time athleticism and motor that college coaches love to recruit. Stepping into a starting role we will get a better feel of what the senior can put together with more minutes. Already a two way threat with a big vertical that can contest shots, Adams is built for the offensive end as well. South’s lead guard is solid with the ball in his hands where he can get to the hoop with different dribble combos. Division ll offers, more will get involved.

Offers from Lemoyne-Owen and Saint Leo

Trevon Ellis (2020) | 6-3 G | Stivers

Ellis has had some injuries but when he’s on the court he’s tough to stop. Ellis is a point guard at the next level that dominates the game with the ball in his hand. Makes good choices, knows when to takeover or give it up. Finishes acrobatically if needed, not guard able at times. Ellis is a prime target to impact the Division ll level, and could very well do so.

Offer from Albany State

Tahj Staveskie (2020) | 6-0 PG | Sandusky

Tahj has battled some injuries but, now healthy and has been since a solid junior season with Sandusky. The senior brings a well rounded scoring game to the next level. Value in the mid-range where he can get a jumper off often with a quick crossover. Staveskie can shoot it as well, gets to the rim but needs to continue to add strength to be consistent there. Division ll programs should be in on the senior, as he could be a solid guard at that level.
