While this happened, other preps are still fielding offers from schools near and far. In this article, I will take a look at seniors who have committed and signed to unsigned seniors squaring off versus one another this coming week.
Committed & Signed
The committed, and newly signed, seniors from this week is who’s who list of top players. Jalen Cook (Walker) signed his National Letter of Intent (NLI) with LSU. Scotlandville’s Reece Beekman put his name on the dotted line signing with the University of Virginia. Huntington Raider Kenny Hunter completed his commitment with signing with Louisiana Tech this this week. His teammate Traboias Fletcher (6’9″) committed to LSU-Alexandria on the same day. Northwestern State filled one of their needs with the signing of Kendal Coleman (6’8″) of Captain Shreve. UL-Monroe had the largest haul during this signing period with Thomas Howell (St. Mary’s), D’marcus Hall (Calvary Baptist), and Elijah Tate (Madison Prep).
Two other committed players will sign with their respective colleges during the second half of the early signing period. Chanse Robinson will sign his NLI with the University of Buffalo while LaDamien Bradford will ink his NLI with Texas A&M. Committed players such as Torrance “TJ” Small (Brother Martin to Army), Dante Bell (Bossier to UNO) and Michael Thomas (Hamilton Christian to UL-Lafayette) have not committed to signing during this period as of yet.
Notable Unsigned Seniors
Louisiana is still full of uncommitted and unsigned seniors. Classes 5A through 1A will start play this week and we will see most of these unsigned players hit the hardwood. For college coaches, this is a week where they can see seniors of interest. Some of the notable, unsigned senior matchups are:

Cody Deen (Bossier High) and Christian Caldwell (Southwood High)
Jude Hopewell (Holy Savior Menard) and Melvion Flanagan (Peabody)
Nate Braden (Lakeview) and Jayshun Miller (Homer)
Now that all classifications are playing, the road to Marsh Madness has truly begun. I look forward to seeing this all these seniors, and others, playing beginning on Tuesday.
