2021 Rankings Update: Small School Standouts

<p>Every year there are a number of guys from "small" schools who make it to the college level. The Class of 2021 should be no different. The updated rankings contain a number of guys from the 1A to 4A levels who should find themselves playing basketball at the next level. Here's a look at the top ones.</p> <p><strong>Josh Baugher (2021 Santiam Christian) </strong>- #11</p> <p>Baugher certainly attracts attention because of his combined size and skills. He's got good height in the backcourt at 6-foot-6 but also possesses the ball-handling and passing skills to possibly project as a point guard at the college level. With older brother Zach moving on, a lot of the show will be handed over to Baugher who spent a lot of his summer attending elite camps and garnering the attention of multiple Division I and II schools. This season he'll be a prime candidate for 3A All-State honors while trying to lead Santiam Christian to the state title.</p> <p><strong>Josh Wart (2020 Amity) </strong>- #20</p> <p>Wart could be one of the bigger hidden gems in the state, partially because of the fact he plays at a smaller school but also because he hasn't played a lot of high-level club basketball. At 6-foot-6 and blessed with a mature body, he's got size but he's also plenty athletic and capable of throwing down some powerful lefty slams. Wart also has a very nice shot from the perimeter and is just as capable of draining threes. He's definitely a candidate for 3A All-State honors.</p> <p><strong>Jaxon Rozewski (2021 Toledo)</strong> - #25</p> <p>At 6-foot-6, 220+ pounds, Rozewski is an imposing physical specimen - especially at the 2A level at Toledo. He's not just a huge brute though as the junior has some decent skills and touch on his shot. Rozewski is simply a great all-around athlete and basketball might not even be his ticket in college as he's a standout quarterback as well.</p> <p><strong>Joseph MaQatish (2021 Santiam Christian)</strong> - #29</p> <p>MaQatish is one of the biggest guys in the state at 6-foot-9, 240+ pounds and at times he is a bit of a bull in a china shop in the paint. But the sophomore actually has a pretty soft lefty touch and he's been learning to play with a little more finesse inside. Teamed with senior Koby Williamson, MaQatish should have a larger role this season in helping make Santiam Christian a force to reckon with in their chase for the 3A state title.</p> <p><strong>Mo Hartwich (2021 Columbia Christian)</strong> - #38</p> <p>While a lot of his teammates left, Hartwich remains at Columbia Christian and will likely become the main man on offense. The near 7-footer has already proven himself as a shot eraser on the defensive end and his offensive game continues to come along as he develops both skill-wise and physically. A gentle giant, Hartwich's size alone will make him unstoppable at the 2A level.</p>
