Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at the upcoming season in the Arkansas Valley-Chisholm Trail Conference (AVCTL).

AVCTL Division 2 Teams

Andover (11-10, 5-7), Andover Central (22-3, 11-1), Arkansas City (14-7, 6-6), Eisenhower (14-8, 8-4), Goddard (3-19, 2-10), Maize South (16-6, 7-4), Valley Center (6-15, 2-10)

Kaleb Gaddis, 6’1, PG, 2021, Andover

Gaddis has grown physically over the past year and has seen his game grow as well. He is a natural point guard who looks to set up his teammates and works to provide leadership for his team. He is coming off a strong offseason playing with NLHA 16U squad and works hard at both ends of the floor. He is a crafty ball handler who gets to the basket and can finish through traffic and has a good feel for scoring over and around bigger player.

Nick Hogan, 6’5. G/F, 2021, Eisenhower @nickhogan23

Also a standout QB prospect, Hogan averaged 12.3 points, eight rebounds and made 43 3-pointers last season. Hogan is a smooth outside shooter and likes to put the ball on the floor and drive to the basket. He doesn’t out-quick defenders but has a feel for crafty moves and uses his frame to carve out space. He has a nice step back shot and can score over the top of defenders in the paint. Hogan can post up a little and has a feel for finishing tough chances around the basket.

Tai Johnson, 5’11, PG, 2020, Maize South

Johnson is coming off a strong junior season at South where he averaged nearly 10 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. He is known for his smart, heady play and ability to lead a team at the point guard position. He is a smooth ball handler, is crafty off the dribble with the ability to break down a defense and set up others.

Shomari Parnell, 6’0, PG, 2020, Andover Central

Also a standout football player, Parnell is a strong, athletic guard who excels at the defensive end of the court. He averaged just 2.5 points and 2.6 rebounds last season, but was a key player for the Jaguars as evidenced by his nearly two steals per game. He brings toughness and intensity to the court and will be counted on to incease his scoring production this season.

Jerome Washington, 6’5, G/F, 2020, Andover Central

Washington (aka Goosen) put together a strong summer running with NLHA where he was able to showcase his vesatility and perometer skills. He is counted on for production in the paint with his high school team, but can also step out and knock down outside shots, handle the ball and make smart, on-time passes to the open man. He averaged eight points per game last season but expect those numbers to increase significantly this season.
