Predicting Central Ohio’s Top Scorers: Part Two

Just a couple of days ago we took a look at who could lead the area in scoring this coming winter. That list could be quite a list, as a preseason watch list. As many names could really fill it up, we take a look at a few more here.   Isaiah Alsip (6’0” / G 2020 / Galion): Alsip is a name that D2s in the area should be familiar with. Isaiah plays for a below-average Galion team, but he's an absolute stud for them. The senior is the top scoring guard in the MOAC. A little out of North Central Ohio, but a Central Ohio league. Also, one of the better in the area when it comes to filling it up. Averaging 20.9 points as a junior, expect that number to blossom this go around. A quick first step, athletic around the rim and a smooth shot makes Alsip standout. Except the senior to be near the top of the scoring column this season. Matt Allocco (6’4” / G 2020 / Hilliard Bradley): It's simple, not many opposing guards can check Allocco. The junior can dish it off just as well as he can score it, which really opens the door for his game. Hilliard Bradley’s season will go as far as their senior leaders take them, which could be far with this talented team. Matt is a crafty ball-handler who can score in the low post and all around the rim. Not a perfect form from deep, but the senior is capable from deep if left open. Except to see an uptick in production from the Princeton commit. Bilal Sow (6’5” / PF 2020 / Canal Winchester): Canal Winchester lost some key contributions from last season that will need to be replaced. The top candidate would be their senior Bilal Sow. The big man has improved mobility, as well as floor stretching ability. Still a force around the rim and rebounding, which will give him many second chance opportunities. Except to see the senior good for at least 20 PPG this season. Brian Collier (6’0” / PG 2020 / Grandview Heights): Brian Collier has been one of the most slept on guards for a while now. Now playing for a Division IV school that may continue, but I’m here to say it shouldn’t. Collier was capable of dropping a 20 ball any given night last year and that will once again be the case. The senior has gotten stronger and absorbs contact better on his way to the rim. A knockdown shooter from deep and flat out competitor. Collier is in for a big last go around. Jalen Sullinger (5’9” / PG 2021 / Thomas Worthington): Thomas Worthington is a team to watch for this coming season. Their sophomore class is simply the best around. Sullinger is the leader of that class, as it all starts with the lead guard. Undersized but it doesn't matter with the way he can score it. Does a great job of creating space, and can pull up from anywhere. As a sophomore Jalen averaged in the mid-teens but showed what he was capable of with scoring over 30. With an improved team expect to see the Cardinal guard produce more.
