What Went On In Recruiting This Week?

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Another week goes by, and we’re just days from the Fall time of year! Just a couple months from high school basketball tipping off, it’s starting to feel like that time of year. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Many players go out on Friday’s and support there local football teams, or even play. Urban Meyer once said multi-sport athletes are more likely to be recruited, which is a proven fact. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Last week, quite a bit happened in recruiting news. But, this week may have brought even more news then previous.</span></p> <h3>Who Did Things Pick Up For?</h3> <p class="p1"><span class="s1"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Malaki Branham</span> is one of Ohio’s top players in the 2021 class. Already holding a few high major offers, that list enlarged for the junior. Kansas State offered the talented two guard, that the blue bloods could come calling for eventually. The sky is the limit for a talent like Branham, and he may certainly get there. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cleveland State was active in state this week, giving out multiple offers. <span style="color: #ff6600;">Trey Woodyard</span> of London is one that stands out, a wing that can really score it. Also, CSU offered <span style="color: #ff6600;">Elmore James</span> of Brush, <span style="color: #ff6600;">Jamarr Talbert</span> and <span style="color: #ff6600;">Josiah Harris</span> of Richmond Heights. <span style="color: #ff6600;">Nehemiah Benson</span> is another talented player the team in green offered from Lutheran East. Benson will continue to get plenty of mid major looks. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Jalin Billingsley</span> is a prospect that keeps rising up coaches boards. Dayton is the latest to offer, as Billingsley is becoming a must get for plenty of mid-majors. The skilled big added to offers that include Akron and Youngstown State. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">The big commitment of the week was <span style="color: #ff6600;">Tyler Eberhart</span> from Kenton Ridge. Eberhart gave his pledge to Charleston, a solid D2 program, who loves recruiting the state of Ohio. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1"><span style="color: #ff6600;">Nate Johnson</span> is proving to be a 2022 to keep an eye on, picking up an offer from Youngstown State this week. The guard played on the Prep Hoops Circuit this summer and has picked up a few offers since then. A bigger guard who can get it done. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Mount Vernon Nazarene University obtained a verbal from <span style="color: #ff6600;">Will Emrick</span> of Franklin. Franklin sent the likes of Luke Kennard to Duke. Basketball runs deep in that area. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">A couple others to mention are <span style="color: #ff6600;">Jonathan Manning</span>, picking up an offer from Lake Erie College. A player the staff likes. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Also, <span style="color: #ff6600;">Colby Cross</span> of Huntington picked up an offer from Huntington. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">A busy week for recruiting in the Buckeye state. As there was a little bit of everything, in each division. </span></p>
