Stock Risers: Florida Prep Hoops Top 250 (2022-2023) – Part 1

<p>The 4th annual Florida Prep Hoops Top 250 was a massive success.</p> <p>202 high school prospects (2020-2023) competed at a high level at Daytona Mainland where 20 plus college coaches, 15 plus media companies and a plethora of parents and family taking in the action.</p> <p>We will have coverage all week long about the event.</p> <p>Here is a look at the first standouts list for the 2022-2023 classes.</p> <h3><strong>Aidan Abell (Westminster Academy)</strong></h3> <p>A surefire outside shooter, there might not be a better riser in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area than 2022 6'5" Westminster Academy guard <strong>Aidan Abell</strong>. Recently making the move over from Coral Springs Charter, this kid is always out to knock down a triple in your face. Abell is long, not done growing and his ability to shoot is drawing the attention of a long list of Division I colleges. He was superb on Sunday in all three games.</p> <h3><strong>Jason Jackson (Sarasota Riverview)</strong></h3> <p>Sarasota Riverview always has true athletes to work with and 2023 6'2" guard<strong> Jason Jackson</strong> looks to be the next big thing there. He is confident as can be handling the rock, can drive with ease and shoots the mid-range very well. His game speed is ready for the varsity level. With 2020 FSU football commit Malachi Wideman now at Venice, the Rams have an opening for a lead dog and it looks like Jackson is going to fit the bill next to 2021 forward Jayven Millien, 2021 guard David Mazon and 2020 guards Marquel Bryant and Alain Kalisa. </p> <h3><strong>Brian Grant (Choctaw)</strong></h3> <p>Getting inside and fighting for rebounds, tip-backs and buckets on the attack is what 2022 6'8" Choctaw forward <strong>Brian Grant</strong> lives for. Time and time again, the big man was bullying defenders. He's double the size of many forwards in his age group and many older than him. He's started figuring out his footwork and that is improving his all-around confidence. Grant will have a key role in the panhandle for an always tough Choctaw program.</p> <h3><strong>Jalen Debose (West Orange)</strong></h3> <p>What a summer the E1T1 Rebels had and 2023 5'11" West Orange guard <strong>Jalen Debose</strong> did his part. On Sunday, it was more of the same from the freshman guard, who loves to get up and down the floor, push the tempo on his own and distribute the ball in set plays or on the break. Debose is no slouch at his height and he's certainly far from done growing. West Orange has a true young leader to lean on this fall.</p> <h3><strong>Joel Harrison (Wharton)</strong></h3> <p>Transferring from American Collegiate to Wharton this past week, 2023 6' guard<strong> Joel Harrison</strong> is one of the best freshman shooters in Tampa Bay and perhaps the state. He was on fire at times in Daytona and his quick handles, shiftiness and overall IQ for the game is well above many kids his age. Always a playoff contender, Wharton has a player to truly develop and make a standout rather quickly. They just graduated 2019 UCF signee Darin Green Jr., a kid who put in the work and got better every year. Harrison is on the fast track for success.</p>
