Recruiting Report: Paul Smith (2020)
Scan the list of available bigs in the region, and it won’t take long to determine that Paul Smith is one of the best you will find. The accomplished 6-foot-8 post prospect had some nice moments on the EYBL with Team Durant, but also took advantage of the new NCAA Calendar and turned some heads during DMV Live at DeMatha. Smith has landed eight offers since the spring and now has several really good options to choose from. During a recent interview with Prep Hoops, he discussed his recruitment and goals among other topics.
PH: What part of your game are you working on right now?
PS: “I’m working on ball-handling and shooting.”
PH: Which schools are standing out the most in your recruitment?
PS: “East Tennessee State, Delaware, George Mason, Temple, James Madison, George Washington, and Towson.”
PH: Which schools have you visited?
PS: “Delaware and George Washington so far.”
PH: Which schools do you want to visit?
PS: “I am visiting George Mason, East Tennessee State, and Towson soon. I don’t know where else I’m going to visit yet.”
PH: What factors are important to you when considering schools?
PS: “I’m looking for a school where I can develop not on on the court, but in the classroom. I’m also looking for a school that feels like home.”
PH: What are your goals?
PS: “My goals for my senior year are to win a WCAC championship and graduate DeMatha with a GPA no lower than 3.5.”
