2021 Rankings Update: Forwards To Keep An Eye On

The forward position brings some hype to the 2021 group, that is possibly the deepest passion of them all. Just because a player isn’t ranked high in this ranking update, doesn’t mean much. Over the complete ranking list, there’s some absolute gamers on the court at the forward positions. <h3>Prospects:</h3> 99. Carter Jones (6’4” / PF / Centerburg / Pumas-Gilliland): Carter Jones has grown a bit and is thinner, which is dangerous for his opponents. Jones crashes the boards, has a lefty shot and gets put backs. I like the improvement Jones made with the ball in his hands this grassroots season, often making good choices. 101. Garrett Taylor (6’6” / PF / Marysville / Nova-Lemon): Taylor’s basketball is ahead of him, as you can see the upside. As Taylor gets stronger, he’s going to be a tougher outing each night. Works well on put backs and easy dump offs under the rim. I fully expect Taylor to take a big step this winter. 106. Royal Sibley (6’5” / PF / Whitehall): Sibley is a name you may not hear a ton, but can definitely contribute to the next level. I like the work that Royal brings to the defensive side, constant pressure and doesn’t allow an easy bucket. Sibley can stretch the floor and knock it down from the outside with decent consistency. Sibley can also attack the rim, and move without ball. Whitehall has a good one in the junior. 109. Brock Unger (6’4” / PF / Berne Union / Nova-Buds): Brock can flat out score the basketball, and he does it at a high clip. Unger has a near 50 point game on his high school resume, which is spectacular no matter the competition. The forward gets a lot of open looks by simply filling the lane, or kick outs. Smooth consistent jumper that drops more often that not, that you won’t want to leave open. Increasing lateral quickness, could easily turn his frame into a very good defender. 128. Kobe Buford (6’4” / SF / Worthington Christian / Nova-Lemon): Buford showed he has a knack for scoring the ball the past few months. Improved jumper showed consistency, and was able to finish inside. Took a great role getting open shots, also creating for teammates.
