2020 Ranking Update: Deep Sleepers From The Guard Position

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The new rankings update, gives you a feel of just how many college prospects are in Ohio. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">And, just because you’re not first, doesn’t mean it’s the end-all. In this one, I take a look at some sleeper guards, who can go!</span></p> <p><em>Number before name is their rank!</em></p> <h3>Deep Sleepers:</h3> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">113. Derrick Hardin (6’1” / SG / Worthington Christian / Nova-Alleyne): Derrick Hardin was one of the better players I seen this summer, in terms of playing with the right team. Often leading his Nova team, it always seemed Hardin was in his groove. Improving his scoring, the Warrior actually led his team in scoring often. Improving the catch and shoot, and taking advantage of open looks. The overall IQ was noticeable, as well. Hardin will complement DJ Moore nicely this winter, in what will be a solid Worthington team. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">125. Brian Collier (6’0” / PG / Grandview Heights / Nova Alleyne): Brian Collier is a tough guard at a D4 school. All summer Brian showed knockdown shooting ability, and improving the drive, also. Collier handles the ball well, doesn’t let the game get to fast and makes smart plays. Collier should be a D3 priority, that would help a program from day one. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">134. Keaton Turner (6’0” / PG / Dublin Coffman / Ohio Hoopsters-Jones): Turner came on to my radar last winter with some stellar player. He continued that this summer and showed some improvement. Turner could again move up on this list as he will now be asked to do more at Coffman. Turner can score off the bounce, handles the ball well and finishes with finesse around the hoop. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">151. Isaiah Alsip (6’0” / CG / Galion / Mid Ohio Magic): Alsip is probably the best pure scorer in the MOAC. This AAU season, he showcased much of the same. Not to mention his ability to force turnovers, and get it and run. The quick guard is a three-level scorer that is above average from all three. An All-State level WR on the gridiron, Alsip is the definition of athletic. </span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">164. Kalil Camara (6’2” / SG / Westland / Nova-Gullick): I’m not sure if there’s a more athletic guard in Central Ohio than Camara. I’m just waiting on the Westland guard to posterize a big, something to watch for this season. But, in all seriousness Camara can get to the hoop and finishes tough. Jumper isn’t consistent but it is capable and he utilizes it here and there. This winter I think Camara could see a big rise in his stock, potentially. </span></p>
